(11,605 posts)I expect he will eventually concede and be gracious, but I don't expect him to hit the campaign trail for her more than once or twice. It just wouldn't make sense - he fundamentally and genuinely disagrees with her about a lot of things. Plus, I don't know that she really wants him to play as active a role as she played in 2008.
I would rather see him do what he has to do to try to talk sense into the BoB people but spend most of his time helping downballot progressives.

(68,553 posts)Look it was a hard fought campaign. At least your guy did not meltdown like Howard Dean...yes I was a Deaniac...and it hurt. Now it is over let's move on and beat the most dangerous candidate in my lifetime...Donald Trump...never Trump!

(761 posts)He will go after Trump aggressively, but will do little direct campaigning FOR Hillary. Honestly, that's probably the best for Clinton. Bernie's supporters would see him campaigning against Trump as being consistent while his supporters would view his direct support with suspicion. That might not be satisfying to Clinton supporters, but it would likely in the end yield more votes for Clinton.

(12,482 posts)I say that with complete sincerity. I think this will begin at the convention with a he'll of a speech on his part. I think Bernie's roll at the convention will be just the opposite of what the actual shit stirrers here are hoping for.

(9,463 posts)..."can't wait" to see Bernie stumping for Hillary.
You are just trying to stir shit and pour salt in the wounds of your fellow Democrats, which says all I need to know about how you feel about Democrats who dare to be to the left of Hillary Clinton and who are supporters of an UNDERGROUND candidate who is fighting for the people and not the oligarchal, status quo, same-as-it-ever-was corporate-sponsored establishment.

(9,463 posts)...to project "drama" onto me. You are pleased and gleeful of the pain of your fellow Democrats. You like that we're hurting and you want to add to that by starting your OP, so that you can rub it in the faces of your fellow Democrats.
Your attempt to deflect away from your behavior is also indicated by the psychology at work here.

(12,482 posts)Because a politician you like lost?
ChisolmTrailDem
(9,463 posts)...with you. I have no desire to associate with someone who is gleeful at the misfortune of fellow Democrats. The complete lack of sympathy for you fellow Democrats and the fact that you feed off our despair should tell anyone reading this about the content of your character.
Yes, because I supported Bernie, you are happy and gleeful that we lost and, yes, when I think about the consequences to my family and my grandchildren, it does hurt. It is painful. Just as you are joyful and gleeful because a politician you like appears to have "won". Why is it wrong for us to feel pain but for you to feel joy and glee is different and good?
You are gleeful of your fellow Democrats' loss, pain, and hurt. That says a lot about you.
That's all I have to say because I will no longer allow you to feed off my pain and disappointment and despair - because a candidate you like won makes you gleeful and me and the one I like don't matter to you at all and are only fodder for your gleeful and joyful schadenfreude.

I have to vote for her - he doesn't have to stump for her.

(23,156 posts)First off, if Bernie does well enough today he could actually have as many or slightly more pledged delegates than she does. Which means the supers will be in a real quandary for the Convention.
Plus, the FBI investigation is still hanging over her.

(98 posts)He will be remembered as a candidate who shocked the political world.
As far as stumping for Hillary, I hope he does but this was a hard fought campaign, both side attacked each other hard and he's sure to be disappointed by losing but Hillary beat him fair and square. Give Bernie time, I bet he'll be right there with us very soon if he's not already.
The big fight for President has now begun.

(11,605 posts)I expect him to eventually endorse her, but I don't see him actively hitting the trail for her like she did for Obama in 2008. He has much more fundamental policy differences with Hillary than Hillary and Obama had in 2008, he probably doesn't plan to run again given his age, and as far as I know he doesn't need her help paying off mountains of campaign debt (could be wrong on that last one).
I will be disappointed if he doesn't eventually step aside and plays the role of spoiler, but I don't expect him to spend a lot of time on the trail for her. I doubt she even wants him to.
