Related: About this forumWhat kind of loser will Bernie Sanders be? He’s got three choices
One year on, Sanders has emerged victorious in more than 20 states, and at one point in April he reduced the gap in that same average to just 1 percent. And those victories are just half the story.
Most importantly, Sanders and his followers have played a role in forcing Clinton to embrace her own progressive instincts rather than taking to the safety of the centre ground. He has also ensured that socialism is no longer a taboo word in American politics, at least not in a Democratic primary. Meanwhile, Winnie Wong, the digital strategist behind #FeelTheBern, will probably never want for work again.
Despite all these achievements, Bernie has fallen short. So what should he do now? If we look to the recent past, there are a few well-trodden routes he can take.

(68,868 posts)This is more like who wins the starting quarterback job. The opponent is Trump.
He did not win. She did win.
Now, Sanders also has the opportunity to act like a loser. I hope he doesn't act like a loser.

(2,124 posts)For a man who wasn't even in the Democratic party.
He can fight tooth and nail to the convention and beyond. HRC gets nomination and wins most likely.
Sanders at this point will be totally marginalized in the Senate.
OR
He accepts defeat and works to elect HRC.
Now he assumes a leadership role in the Senate and the President takes his calls right away.
Which does he choose?
he will be marginalized in senate eather way.he will do what he always has done.do what he thinks is right.he is anti-war progressive most democratic senators are corporists and neocons.
he won't get any kind of leadership in the clinton party because he dared to challenge her cornation.
working to elect her is total betreyal of everything he has fought for in his career.and it won't cause his supporters to vote clinton.

(2,124 posts)I actually believe he will support HRC and come back to the Senate with an enhanced position.
Fact is he's a politician! and has been for decades. One path gives him very little influence the other means he can push legislation important to him.
We shall see.

(6,007 posts)She did put classified material OUTSIDE the government control. That is what espionage is. Plain and simple.
We know she had 2200 classified emails on her server and 22 of them were higher than top secret. Which means they posed a great danger to national security. .. .sitting on a private, unprotected server OUTSIDE the government.
If she is not indicted, we no longer have a rule of law. If we don't have a rule of law, we don't really have a country any more.
So either she is indicted or the country is finished.
