Hillary's largest group of supporters are the elderly who consistently vote absentee. Bernie's are the youth. They consistently are election day voters. Clinton's engineering of that announcement was designed to depress election day turnout as it usually heavily favors Bernie.

It appears from reports on the ground, Clinton's crass tactic may have had effect. We'll know soon.

Certainly nothing to do with Dolores Huerta, who publicly and wrongly maligned SBS supporters at their own Nevada caucus location. She was an out-of-state guest who treated her hosts poorly.

There are about 5,000,000 early ballots to count and they are some of the first reported.

Could still tighten up.

Otherwise, do you think she would have passed up the opportunity to seal the nomination with a win in California, following in the footsteps of her husband and Robert Kennedy?

Clinton was expected to do well there (though maybe not THIS well). It will tighten up.

Cohn at NYT and others at 538 and MSNBC say we will likely not know the full results tonight - Cal voters can mail in votes today and if postmarked, they will be counted as late as Friday.

The first group of (early mailed-in) votes is expected to be strongly pro-Hillary. Then the in-person votes today will be counted, which will likely be more strongly pro-Sanders. The third group, late mailed-in votes, could go either way.

Cohn, 538, and some folks at MSNBC are pretty careful about numbers, so I think it's wise to be cautious.

I don't mind being cautious at all.

I was wrong about MI and some other state (I forget which one) because of Early Voting.

It's a large spread in CA right now.

Mail in ballots thus far 26%

Bernie has to REALLY rally if he's gonna make up some ground with Hillary's mail in ballots...

He's gonna have to rally to get 1 million votes. He may make it to 1 million, but it's gonna be tough.

I think they've been the best in the business this entire primary season. They had Clinton winning by 8 or 9. I'm sure the AP call might interfere with their projection but they nailed the New Jersey rout
