2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumJust turned on CNN and heard Trump quoting Sanders
Saying, "Hillary is not qualified, you know who said, that? Bernie Sanders! Even he knows that she's not qualified to be president."
One Black Sheep
(458 posts)in recent speeches, Trump is going after Bernie supporters, no doubt.

And Mitt Romney in 2012?

(11,605 posts)He's running ads using stuff Obama said about Hillary during the 2008 primaries against her.
So are we going to hold him responsible for sabotage also if she loses?
HassleCat
(6,409 posts)The other party always uses comments made by candidates who oppose each other in the primary. Remember how we had a field day with "Voodoo Economics?"

(47,803 posts)If it had been Sanders as the nominee, Trump would be using things Clinton has said about Bernie.
DesertRat
(27,995 posts)I hope the same holds true with Trump.

(25,816 posts)And as for the "unqualified" remark--it came the day after HRC said the very same thing about Bernie.
Clintons problems are because of her own actions and are not Bernie's fault, or his supporters fault.

(1,442 posts)HRC is having a rather large issue at hand with donor getting preferential treatment when she was SoS, http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/10/politics/hillary-clinton-donor-rajiv-fernando/index.html
This isn't something HRC supporters can EVER blame Bernie for... but that's not going to stop ya from trying I see...
tritsofme
(17,376 posts)That campaign left me bitter toward Kennedy for a long time.
emulatorloo
(44,116 posts)So I am not surprised. I don't suppose he noted that Bernie walked that statement back.
One can't blame Bernie for Trump's dishonest campaigning
(trump will fail at this seduction, btw.)

(25,816 posts)But if it's okay for HRC to appeal to R's, why are you upset about Trump appealing to Democrats
or Independents?
okasha
(11,573 posts)Trump is a batshit crazy authoritarian.
It's not Trump's courting Sanders supporters that's the problem , since the great majority of Sanders supporters are't batshit crazy either and will support the Democratic ticket.
The problem is the BoB dupes and collaborators who are willing to damage not just the Democratic Party but the entire planet because they lost the primary.

(9,289 posts)Sanders made the tactical mistake of responding in kind. Clinton gleefully used that against him. Now Trump is trying to use it against Clinton. Gotta love politics.
