Hillary's Epic New Infomercial for Trump University

Clinton campaign releases fake infomercial for Trump University http://ti.me/1S0hy6m via @TIMEPolitics

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is spotlighting the controversy over Donald Trump’s now-defunct seminar program, Trump University, with a mock infomercial for the program which is the subject of a class action lawsuit alleging it was a scam.

The biting video released Saturday references recently-released ‘playbooks’ which detailed how sales-people worked to convince potential clients, even those already in debt, to pay for the expensive courses. Advertisements for the programs featured Trump declaring instructors were handpicked by the billionaire mogul, but he later admitted under oath he was not involved in their selection—and the paltry qualifications of some instructors and student complaints are now the center of a court case.

“Step 2: Pay for Trump University at the amazing price of everything you have,” the chipper narrator says.

Trump, who has maintained the “university” was legitimate, and has promised to restart it should he emerge victorious in the ongoing suit, brought the case to the center of the campaign conversation two weeks ago when he launched an assault on presiding U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel.

“We guarantee you’ll give Trump U a glowing review—because we’ll make you,” the ad continues, referencing reports that some of endorsements for the course may have been coerced.

“Trump University was a massive scam and nothing close to an actual school,” a Clinton campaign official said. “Preying on the elderly, encouraging potential customers to max out credit cards and drain their savings, and making trumped up promises about how to profit off of the housing crisis.”

and @ the same time. Sign up now to give your money to an alleged billionaire.

Trump doesn't stand a chance in the GE. I'm predicting a landslide victory for Hillary.

Trump survived the primary because most republicans agree with him, even if they were ashamed of him...and he was treated with kid gloves... in the general, he's going to have the entire democratic establishment go after him with gloves off. He's going to get wrecked.

THAT is the part that will drive him fucking crazy. He's used to being called a cheat, a thief, etc. But he cannot handle being called "not that rich."

We need to keep hitting that angle (after the R convention). That will cause him to LOSE IT every time.

"... that he's got about $150M cash available at best and he guards it like a hawk and will not spend it on a presidential campaign. ..."

Keep in mind that many of his businesses, i.e. hotels, casinos, golf courses have lots of employees and restaurants, which need a lot of liquid assets (cash) to operated on a day to day basis.

Most of Trumps wealth is in non-liquid assets (meaning not-cash or easily convertible to cash) mainly his properties, (buildings, golf courses, and his Casino). Many of these non-liquid assets have had their value assessed by Trump himself which is hardly objective. This is mainly the reason that Forbes assessed his net worth at $4B and Trump assessed it at $11B. Included in that Net Worth is an amount for "his Brand," that being the Trump name which is an intangible asset so he can make it whatever he wants it to be. Just like he weaves his Charitable Deductions out of whole cloth. Recently one of the NY newspapers did a review of his charitable contributions and determined that of something like $190M claimed contributions, hardly any was actually in cash. The bulk of his claimed deduction about $70M was for an easement he had granted to the public at one of his golf courses which meant that he would never build on this area (which was on a cliff and likely nothing could probably be built on it anyway.

Another good chunk of it was donations of rounds of golf for foursomes which he valued at $1750 which the charities would themselves auction off for cash for their charities. When questioned, the charities stated that those rounds of golf would bring in about $350 total at best. He even had a contribution to charity for Serena Williams for something like $1750. When they contacted Serena to inquire about it, it turned out that he had invited her to a ribbon cutting ceremony at one of his new Tennis Complexes at one of his golf courses (in Virginia I believe) and the $1750 was the cost of her airfare. Now how the cost of her airfare to cut the ribbon at his new Tennis Complex at his Golf Course becomes a Charitable contribution belies me and I'm an accountant. My guess is this is why he gets audited every year, if he in fact does. If this kind of stuff is allowed to pass muster with the IRS than I need to open my own version of Trump University. In fact we all need to.

The more his business practices are exposed, the less his chances of winning the presidency. He's a self serving narcissist who truly believes that he's the brightest man in any room.
