In fact, I can't see what purpose it served other than superfluous gloating. Why are you people still going out of your way to piss off people you will want on Hillary's side in November?

It was never bad that Bernie run and if he hadn't run, none of the issues he raised would even be part of the conversation this year. It would be "it's enough to elect someone CALLED a Democrat".

And leaving it at that has never led to anything good.

Bernie may not be our nominee but he is far from done, Bernie is leading the way for this party to get back to it's roots that of a party of and for all Americans not just the 1%.

Pretty damn stupid to start running victory laps with the race so far from over.

Remember this when you're begging for my vote come November.

I absolutely will.

directs all his lethal fire at the Republicans and the Kochs and their enormous anti-government/anti-Democrat organization of fellow billionaires.

Is there any Democrat who thinks the party couldn't use a little shaking up and reminding of what its membership wants, especially the membership itself? Yes, Bernie's a definitely something of a crank, imagining all Democrats who don't support him are corrupt and pretending that his revolutionary ideals aren't actually drawn from established liberal Democrat ideology.

But a big fault of the liberal core of the party is stasis, a grim acceptance that we will only be able to achieve part of what we want that has become habitual, and like every old organization its establishment has institutionalized their own continuance over party goals. This new energy that says compellingly, "That's not nearly enough, we must and can do more, and this is what we are going to do:" is something we really need. And if he's occasionally offensive and hostile, oh well? He is what he is.

Jim Hightower in 2010 talking about what Democrats were doing to combat corporate power. Way too much truth to it still. The "they" in this are corporations.

Here come the Democrats, again, you know, just weaker than Canadian hot sauce. You know? Offering a little reform. I saw one of the Senators, Democrats, saying, we're going to have a robust disclosure program. Oh, good. They're going to tell us they're stealing from us. But at least we're going to know.
