2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt is absolutely impossible to call oneself a "progressive" and refuse to back Hillary this year.
Refusing to back Hillary means helping the monster who is Trump. No ifs, ands, or buts. If one is going to be so "pure" as to help the monster Trump by default by refusing to vote for Hillary Clinton, the stakes being so immeasurably high, then it is absolutely impossible to say one is "progressive." Progressive means progress, not absolutist purity. And Hillary is certainly progressive.
Trump is a monster and devil. He is an unhinged mega-nut, disgusting to the very hilt, and can not be allowed to get anywhere near the White House.
This a no-brainer of epic proportions, plain and simple.

Wonder what it is?
Oh yes, logic. That is what is missing

I'm thinking the sweet spot for a comfortable version of center left for this one is like a pro choice Oren Hatch or maybe Dick Lugar with a circle d next to his name.

(11,076 posts)His wobble is so bad I can't imagine that he will survive the convention. All he had to do was stop talking and he can't make that happen. The argument of Hill not being Trump will vanish and then heads will begin to pop! Suddenly and completely they will realize that they should not have dumped Bernie's supporters as though they were the 'lint' on Hill's jacket.
Scootaloo
(25,699 posts)It puts all the lights on Trump. It lets him set the terms and frame the arguments. It makes Clinton look like an empty candidate who's only there to snipe at the other guy.
peace13
(11,076 posts)And her best position is not sniping. She is batter on deck to be called bitter and that will not be pretty. She is bitter but that is sexist, unless your Hill or the press.

And people like you, hiding behind screen names on this "underground" Internet site, ignored, ridiculed and disrespected the one candidate with good ideas AND integrity.
Now all you've got is a bullshit OP wherein you decide who's not progressive.
Pathetic.

(2,872 posts)Trump was chosen, by the Clintons specifically for this moment. Couple the threat of a Trump presidency with a vacancy on the Supreme Court, and one would think that'd be the biggest stick one could be beaten with. I see through it. Smoke and mirror stage theater. Just sit back and enjoy the popcorn.
