2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIs there a poll?
That shows a breakdown of Party affiliation along with the "unfavorable" polls of Trump and Hillary?
We hear that Hillary is polling about 55% "unfavorable" and Trump polls about 70% unfavorable. Are not these polls taken across all Party lines?
It seems to me that these polls do not have a lot of significance unless we know how many people in each Party view these candidates negatively? For example, we know that Republicans do not have a high regard for Hillary, and evidently, do not have a high regard for Trump either. With the make-up of polls, the majority in each Party could view their candidate favorably and they could still come up with very high unfavorable polls if everyone else viewed them negatively.
Any thoughts on these "unfavorable" polls on Hillary and Trump?

(7,299 posts)Clinton's reputation. Hell, Trump even rolled out the old "Vince Foster" meme. Of that 55% unfavorable, the vast majority of that are Republicans. Those robots have been trained that it is their birthright to hate everything Clinton.
Trump, on the other hand, earned his 70% unfavorable on his own in the course of less than a year. BIG DIFFERENCE PEOPLE !!!!

The answer to your question is: She is going to crush him. Bernie would crush him if he won. My dog would crush him if I could have talked him into running, he wouldn't listen though.
Perhaps I should have asked "what percent of that 55% are Republicans"? I would assume the poll was probably divided along the lines of 1/3 Dems, 1/3 Repubs, and 1/3 Indys? If so, and every single Democrat voted unfavorably for her, that would equal 33% unfavorables. So, we need to put this poll into perspective. With Trump's 70% unfavorables, maybe he got a big portion of Democrats in his column?
It does not mean a lot for people to talk about Hillary's negatives in the same context with those of Donald Trump. They are being manipulated.
