How I'd Like The Nomination Contest to End

Hillary Clinton promises to put more emphasis on issues she's already nominally for:
- public financing of elections
- stopping the TPP

Bernie Sanders concedes before the convention, endorses her at the convention, and then does a college tour in support of the Democratic ticket and local Democratic candidates (and keeps talking about his policy goals).

Hillary has to get a signed pledged from all her elected SD's that they will vote against TPP - this will likely come up before she is inaugurated, and there is little she can do as a private citizen except ask them to endorse this. I'd like to see it in writing.

In which case, forget about TPP - it's a done deal if she has no power over them. Although, it will be interesting to watch this 'changing of the guard' in respect to the TPP.

That does not sound like a full commitment to change anything. Not to mention these are not the two issues most people care about.

And those two issues are not my personal top two.

"She'll say anything, and change nothing."

I don't get why anyone would put any stock in her "promises." They are convenient, and totally empty.

She and her media/DNC cohorts kicked Sanders in the teeth all through the primaries. He owes her nothing.

People who have been trashing Sanders for months are very angry that he hasn't officially conceded, but they don't seem to realize that this isn't about them. My guess is that Sanders is trying to bring his supporters who are on the fence into the fold. Simply saying, "It's over, Clinton is the winner, listen to her now" is going to cause a certain number of them to jump ship. But if he pivots and frames things (even more) as being part of a larger struggle, one that everyone is a part of, and one that the 2016 presidential election is just a small part of, he might get a large part of them to stick with the Democratic party and try to use it as a vessel for progressive change.

Again, this might make people who already disliked Sanders more angry, but this isn't about stroking their egos. This is about getting the best outcome for November and beyond.

We had a rotten primary process, and HRC will get the nomination from that rotten process.

If Sanders never endorses her, then he'll have less power in the Senate than if he does.

If Sanders never endorses Clinton, then he'll probably never be Chair of the Budget Committee (as punishment for not endorsing her.)

on ANYTHING. You can never tell where she will on anything from day to day and she can never give straight answers, I don't trust her on issues and that includes things like the TPP.

Why should I trust someone who called the TPP "The gold standard" more than 40x in her book?
