1. There's no "humiliation" in losing a roll call vote. That's projection, from those frustrated with his presence, who would LIKE him to be humiliated.
2. This really makes no sense. I see no benefit to staying in all the way, just to drop out right before. Not for opportunism or anything else.
3. You must really be worried about Clinton's weakness as a GE candidate if you want him to start campaigning for her before she's even nominated. You seem overly concerned that the convention might be more authentic than symbolic, and that actual democracy might be messier than you'd like. I'm sure whatever speech he gives will be rousing, because his speeches are, and I'm sure it won't be all about himself, because they never are. As he's pointed out time and time again, his campaign was not about him, but about us. The frustrated determination to make everything all about "her" is at times amusing, and always sad. That said, he's already working on the platform and the steps forward for his vision, and he's got millions behind him.
