Hillary Clinton Is On A Mission To Rebuild The Democratic Party

A 50-state strategy has been tried before. Her staff think they can do it right this time.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign will maintain staff in all 50 states during the general election with an eye toward overwhelming Republicans in the fall and rebuilding the Democratic Party’s infrastructure thereafter.

The strategy, described to The Huffington Post by Clinton campaign aides, is a continuation of the Ramp Up Grassroots Organizing program that the campaign applied to the Democratic primary. But unlike that approach — which had the immediate objective of competing with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in each state contest — the current one carries risk.

Many states in which Clinton will be employing staff and spending resources will almost assuredly vote against her anyway. She could end up wasting money that is needed to win swing states. But her staffers say the investment is well worth it.

“This is something that needs to happen every presidential cycle. It needs to be sustained. And I think if we continue to do that, we will help build the party long-term,” said Marlon Marshall, the Clinton team’s director of state campaigns and political engagement. “I truly believe we have a historic candidacy with Secretary Clinton, and we can use this opportunity to bring more people into the party.”

permanently.
The midterms are critical for Congress, and we need a Democratic Party dominated congress.

The same ole guard dems will take control of the leadership roles and be in the right position to do anything, but transform the platform.

Rebuild. Where are they going to find new supporters?

There's seldom only one option, you know. Or maybe you don't, but you should. They all have their sets of costs, tradeoffs, benefits.

Btw, was Bernie into "house cleaning" as a way of dodging the big things? I think you're being kind of unreasonable.

the TPP documents confirms she is going to push it up our asses if she gets power. She can say a lot of things but its her behavior that tells the story. Anyone who believes that should read more. Your second remark makes no sense. Bernie has been for getting money out and changing politics so that people like us have a voice. Hillary wasn't. I am struggling to believe her now. Release shit if she wants us to believe her. She won't. Guccifer2.0 appears to be the one who is doing that for her. If he does then its to her complete detriment because it underlines the high negatives that she has as someone who is not trustworthy and given that they are 56% across the democratic board, that number includes her own supporters.

on the right is the problem. No matter how bad you think we are, we are the only solution our nation has.

Open your eyes and look. If the Republicans get the White House and a conservative majority in the White House, they will make it unconstitutional to require people to pay into Social Security. They will privatize what's left of the system, and investors will sack the account for profits.

They've promised to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a better system. They have no intention of fulfilling that promise -- there will be no other system. Say goodbye to lifetime care for a condition and hello again to being denied insurance for preexisting conditions. OVER half of all Americans say they want to repeal the ACA, including a lot of people here! It will happen.

That's just a couple of hundreds of things they will do, and just the beginning. One ultraconservative group, believed to now be as powerful as the GOP itself, is lead by a man, Charles Koch, who wants to make compulsory education illegal. Many conservatives believe their children are being corrupted by liberalism in schools, and others that Satan walks their halls, and they will support this. A constitutional ruling allowing people to just say no to educating their children in the name of personal freedom would be passed before long, but eventually they will make it unconstitutional to require people to pay taxes for programs like education. Over time federal, followed by state, funding for public education would be cut and more and more and public schools would become worse and worse, especially bad in conservative states, causing parents to find private schools, or start home schooling. Of course most would end up segregated. This all can and probably will happen if the GOP wins this election and this group and the GOP get their people on SCOTUS. There is currently no significant conservative group fighting ultraconservatism, while many are pulling that direction.

Think laws establishing religion in the U.S. can't happen when they are? The conservatives on today's SCOTUS have already "reinterpreted" the Constitution to, for only one little example, make it legal for public meetings to be opened with prayer. The current many other incursions of religion into public and private life will have been only the wedge in the door to what's coming. If the GOP wins in 2016.

We don't even begin to be the problem. We are the only people who can stop this from happening.

Rachal Maddow did a map of the US a couple of weeks ago, and the Democrats start the race with approximately 230 electoral votes to begin with. They only need to win about four additional states and they normally have several routes by which this can be accomplished. As long as the Democratic Party doesn't get mired down with distractions (i.e. Bernie Sanders) than we should be in good shape.

what did her campaign do to inform those voters back in October AND before the first Dem debate.

This week we have received three phone calls asking for donations and help which mentioned the massacre in Orlando as a need to beat Trump. All the sudden a horrific tragedy is being used for a fundraiser.

Either you care about people all of the time, whether it is inconvenient or might interfere with your future aspirations, or you push them aside and then try and bring them back later.

Bringing them back later is more difficult.

'We need you now' is a sound that rings hollow.
