US Rep. Kaptur (D) Suggests Trump May Be a Clinton Plant

Democrat Marcy Kaptur talks about Trump and Hillary.
by BRENDAN BORDELON * June 17, 2016 * Nat'l Review

Marcy Kaptur talks about Trump and Hillary. Some conservative Republicans disgusted by Donald Trump’s offensive, scorched-earth campaign have long suspected their party’s nominee to be secretly in league with his erstwhile friends Bill and Hillary Clinton. They wonder whether Bill Clinton and Trump worked out an agreement — perhaps during the course of that “casual” phone call between the two last May — designed to hand Hillary Clinton the White House while tarnishing the GOP’s brand for a generation.

It’s been dismissed by many as a conspiracy theory. But as Trump continues to offend with racially charged rhetoric and his own outlandish theories, a top Democratic lawmaker is now airing it openly.

“There are some theories on the Internet that this is Bill Clinton’s best political deal,” says Marcy Kaptur, the veteran Democratic congresswoman from Ohio and the House’s longest-serving female lawmaker, “that he and Donald are buddies, and they have a lot of similar friends in New York, and he has masterfully selected a friend who maybe by October will say, ‘You know, this is very boring. And I’m going to get out.’” “

Do I believe it 100 percent, do I believe it 2 percent? You know, you really wonder,” Kaptur says. Suggesting that your party’s nominee might’ve made a backroom deal with the devil isn’t part of the normal course of business for a run-of-the-mill Democratic lawmaker. But Kaptur has tussled with the Clintons before.

Maybe he made a bet with someone (Clinton), that he could get out there and say every stupid thing he could think of, and win the Republican nomination.

I've always thought that Trump was one of the biggest assholes on the planet, but the man is not stupid enough to believe any of the stupid horse shit coming out of his mouth.

"Here's the deal, Donald. We're going ahead with Hillary's run. We've already got the DNC and DWS lined up, the MSM is with us all the way, 33 states are on board, and all you need to do is get in the race, get out there, be yourself, and pop off a couple of Republicans who might be problematic for Hillary. Hey, we can make it worth your while, it would be a lot of fun for you, and you'd come out ahead either way. What do you think, Donald?"

Don't underestimate high stakes D.C. politics among multimillionaires, billionaires, and multinational corporations who have everything to gain.

As right wing as right wing gets. Founded by William F. Buckley, Jr., conservative intellectual and leader of the Conservative Movement. Former home of John Derbyshire, racist. Now used on DU as a source to further a conspiracy theory involving our presumptive nominee and her husband, a former President. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

Listening yesterday, he was continuing his "crazy Bernie" routine several times. What's with that if not to help Hillary even now. I guess it's a reach but to what end? On the face of it, it could be true. After the election, Trump will either hide or "Trumpet" his strategy to hand her the election. My mind is working here...

No, I'm one of a huge number of Americans who do not care for either front runner.

But calling anyone who's not wild about Hillary a "Trump supporter" sounds either illogical or a cheesy attempt at intimidation.

Surely you don't think Trump fear is all Hillary has going for her -- do you?

When Trump got in the race, he wasted no time getting rid of the Republican candidates who would have run strongest against Hillary. He eliminated Jeb, Kasich, and Scott Walker, any of whom would have been stronger against Hillary than himself.

His attacks on Hillary have always been flaky, easy-to-refute stuff, much of it from the 1990s -- or sexist, which plays into one of her major campaign themes. He makes her look sympathetic. He continues to make himself look ridiculous.

Trump and the Clintons are friends, as are their daughters. We've all heard about Bill's phone call to Trump at the start of primary season. Trump and Hillary are both 1 percenters, very tight with the big money interests. If either of them wins, the oligarchs would be happy, but they'd be happier with Hillary in the WH as is evidenced by her donor list.

Trump is very useful to the Hillary campaign as a last resort: Vote for Hillary because she's better than Trump. If Bernie doesn't concede, he's electing Trump. It's Hillary or Trump, no other choice.

The media drums up Trump fear 24/7.

So it's nice to see a long time Democratic congressional representative has been wondering about it, too.

Because i'll be damned--- it's working.

And if the end result is that the GOP is reduced to the civics equivalent of a giant tire fire because, among other things, someone actually appealed to all the nasty, base impulses they've covertly been nurturing in their base for all these years...

Well fuuuuuuck, all I can say is I'm glad the man behind the curtain is on our side.

.... and a performance like that deserves a standing ovation.

There is no legitimate way Clinton can win the presidency (let alone the Dem nomination).

Trump continues to say things that, in a normal country, would have disqualified him from the get-go. But it is so bad that Trump has to say even more of the most dangerous rhetoric - and even that can't stop the idiotic citizen republican from voting for him.

They've been pushing Trump from the start.

And lest we forget, Bill Clinton gave the MSM everything it wanted by lobbying for and signing the 1996 Telecom Act. They owed him big time for that. Now they're showing their gratitude and loyalty. They know a second Clinton presidency would only strengthen their control over all outlets for public information -- and further screw the citizens.

more baggage than Samsonite, that's a known favorite of the Wall Street crowd in an anti-Wall Street election, and a "foundation" that will likely give the GOP plenty of fodder for Fox. Someone who is even more disliked of course, and above all who will NOT TALK POLICY because he doesn't know any. If you can't see what a sham our elections are, you must be in with the "in crowd", or seriously not paying attention.
