as the Lion of the Senate. She has done tremendous good there, and has been absolutely tireless in advancing progressive ideas and policies.

Could she be a good VP? Oh, you bet. She's smart, articulate and would go full-on in the campaign. Trump and his evil minions can't hold a candle to Senator Warren.

In the worst case scenario, should she become VP and then have to take over the Presidency, could she? Again, you bet. I would have every confidence that Warren would be fine in that highest office.

But, again, if she becomes Clinton's VP, we lose a Lion in the Senate. That, in the long run might be a bigger downside than the strength she'd add to Clinton's ticket.

Still, we'll see. I don't much believe in coincidence and however it shakes out, it will be as it is meant to be. As the Rev. King told us, “Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”

I must believe that in the end, justice will prevail. God knows, our corrupt system now is unsustainable.

But she doesn't seem to want that job, seeing as so many people were begging for her to run in this election and she emphatically said no. She'd make a great president and she'd make a great VP, but you're right that she already makes a great senator. Ideally I'd like to see her stay in the Senate long enough to end up chairing the banking committee.

she couldn't work for even more strongly from outside it. Except vote, and her Democratic successor would do that. Certainly her role of generating public support would only be enhanced.

For instance, before becoming a senator, she was a private citizen who agitated for creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and was named an assistant to the president to set it up. (She was going to be its first director, of course, but the GOP blocked that so she paid them back good by getting elected to the senate). This kind of special project is merely one example of the things she might do as VP. The CFPB isn't doing as well as it might have under her strong leadership, btw, and if she were in the executive branch she'd be in position to assist it from upstairs.

One thing we can be sure of, she'd be a new-style, powerful VP, not the twiddling-thumbs old fashioned type.

because she has Native American ancestry. A presidential candidate is referring to someone as Pocahontas in 2016.

There are many other pros and cons for her, but having someone that exposes one of the central reasons why your opponent shouldn't be president, is too good to pass up.

Perez, Castro, or Booker would probably get equally offensive nicknames as well so that's a definite pro.

One of the main things that the Clinton campaign needs to be doing is setting up high profile PoC/female surrogates against Trump just to bring out his racism.

I like Warren as VP for many reasons:

1. She brings so much energy and passion.
2. I hate it when people say there should not be two women on the ticket for gender balance, when all these years, it was perfectly fine with 2 men on the ticket. Let's go all the way!
3. Bernie people!
4. She will be able to show that she can get money for speeches from Wall Street and still make any damn decision she wants, and pick anyone she wants.
5. MA is a blue state, and we will probably fill her senate seat with another democrat (Harry Reid is thinking about this)
6. It shows Hillary is self confident and does not fear being over shadowed by Warren
7. Warren as VP can focus on consumer protection and have a major role
8. Warren is also 67 years old, and this is her chance to go above being a senator. She has 10-13 years in senate anyways (how old are the oldest senators?)..and if she is physically still strong, she could run for president in 8 years!

Assuming her constituents like her, she could be in the senate for the rest of her life if they continue to elect her. Daniel Inouye and Robert Byrd both died in the Senate, at ages 88 and 92. Strom Thurmond stayed until he was 100 and the current oldest senator is 82.

But I believe that she can have more influence in the Senate where she is now. Still, she would be a great pick if it weren't for that. I very much look forward to the day when Elizabeth will be the Dem nominee for President and Hillary will be campaigning enthusiastically on her behalf.

As for Hill's Veep choice, she has given me every reason to trust her political judgment in this election cycle. I will only believe who that choice is when SHE herself states it. Speculation is fun. But it is not fact.

My personal hope is that Hillary does NOT choose anyone who is already very effective in an elective office. She will need help from EVERY quarter to advance her agenda. But she knows this more than anyone.

I remember being very disappointed when Hillary left the Senate to become SOS, so I understand peoples feelings about wanting Warren to stay put. However, I trust Warren to make that decision. Also, it would send a knockout message that a Hillary administration won't be business as usual.

Warren for VEEP because of all the articles being published in major media giving every possible reason why she shouldn't be and frequently not mentioning positive points, making me think some people really don't want her to be the choice. Of course we knew that from the outrageous threat from Wall Street if she were.

Btw, THIS below from Vanity Fair does not sound as if the financial industry thinks she'd be "wasted" as VEEP; quite the contrary.

WALL STREET THREATENS TO ABANDON CLINTON IF SHE PICKS WARREN
Deep-pocketed donors say they don’t mind Hillary moving left—but Warren is a deal-breaker.

But there’s at least one good reason to think that picking Warren in a bid to mollify Sanders’s voters would backfire, by alienating that other critical Clinton constituency: the Wall Street moneymen who are terrified of the Massachusetts senator and want to keep her as far as possible from the White House.
