Listen to his words. When Pushed to answer about Hillary in November, he said he'd "Likely" vote for her, but we have to stop Trump.

The only thing worse than a sore loser is a braggart that loves to rub salt into his opponents wounds instead of shaking his/her hand and calling it a "Good Game!" I thought we were all on the same side anyway....are we not???????

and no longer be viewed as the Independent from Vermont who said this or that. He's built up a sizable following for his voice. And it should be that way. He'll make the democratic party stronger and help push for future progressive legislation.

It'll be up to us to give him the democratic votes in congress to get those bills through, hopefully with a democratic president.

noticed him doing much of that but have not been watching much lately. Convention speeches and campaign speeches are pretty much b.s. and the pols usually don't stick to them. Either they find they aren't capable of doing what they promised to do or are just blatantly saying anything in order to get votes.

I'm not surprised, just confused.

He's already got to stuff the DNC leadership committee with his people. No doubt he has many other concessions, including a speech at the DNC I'd expect (Hillary got a night in 2008). So he's getting what he wants, a voice in forming the platform and is positioned to keep his economic justice campaign going, nobody's objecting to that. So why remain a candidate at this point? He's got everything he's gonna get as the loser of the Primary. What purpose does this serve at this point?

He's looking for commitment to progressive change--as much as possible and more than our presumptive nominee has so far promised--and feels that his remaining a candidate gets the most eyes and ears on those issues. He's at leadt partly right about that, as this and about every eighth thread in GD demonstrates.

But we'll see in Philly and after.

A Sanders endorsement of Clinton could come ahead of the Philadelphia convention

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Bernie Sanders could offer an endorsement of presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton before the party’s convention next month, depending on the outcome of ongoing policy talks between the two campaigns, Sanders’s campaign manager said Friday.

...as buying a Sanders endorsement would be illegal. It would be naive of us, however, to believe that talks aren't ongoing. It may be that we've already seen what that story refers to, and that the official, unambiguous endorsementvwill indeed come at Philly.

It would indeed be illegal for Sen. Sanders to accept cash, personal goods, etc. for his endorsement. I would never expect nor accuse him of that.

I'm only saying that deals happen, and at this stage the candidates would need to be very cagey in public about any discussions.

Cash payments are about the last thing I'd expect.

I get trying to make the party better but he's being q helicopter parent at this point. And not an encouraging one. Too many people buy that "their all the same" crap and it's been a big dissapointment to see him spread that.
