Related: About this forumAl Franken: I'd serve as Hillary Clinton's VP
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/al-franken-clinton-vice-president-224769If Hillary Clinton came to me and said, Al, I really need you to be my vice president, to run with me, I would say yes, Franken said. But Im very happy in the job that I have right now.
Despite Frankens promise that he doesnt believe hes being considered, Clinton allies have floated his name as a possible dark horse vice presidential pick. Hes known the former secretary of state for more than 20 years and is popular with the more progressive wing of the Democratic Party, a group with which Clinton badly needs to connect after a hard-fought primary against Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

The GOP would have a field day with his comedic routines, but hey, if Reagan can overcome playing 2nd banana to a monkey, I'm sure Al could overcome his many characters!

(135,425 posts)He still can be wry, sharp, acerbic and incredibly witty, but he doesn't go for the big laugh in his current job.
I like the guy, though!

(15,445 posts)charge was often leveled at him during his 2008 run.
A debate format would show off his wit and rapier-like repartee to fine effect.

(2,212 posts)I bought all his books, donated to him even though I live far away from his state. He is a very bright person who is focused on working as a politician for his state and not being a flash in the pan. He is a statesman.

(36,416 posts)He turns his parlor trick into a teaching moment with a running dialogue on geography, history, and current events in a most entertaining fashion. In a parallel universe, he would have been a very magical teacher.

(5,275 posts)I enjoyed listening to Al in his Air America days and before that his SNL days. Funny guy and it's a shame he has toned that down but I get why he did it.
I do remember disagreeing with him about questioning voting results. I get his reasoning but how are we going to address it?
I have doubts he would be the pick but he seems mostly aligned with Hillary.
