Bernie Sanders Would Be A Popular Vice Presidential Pick, New Poll Says

Thirty-nine percent of voters nationwide said they would be more likely to vote for the Democratic ticket if Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders were on it, according to a new poll from Monmouth University.

The poll tested six potential Democratic and six potential Republican vice presidential picks, and Sanders was the only name to stand out from the pack. Among undecided voters, a whopping 50 percent said they would be more likely to support the Democrats if it’s a Clinton-Sanders ticket. That could be a substantial number of voters — the HuffPollster model indicates that 9.8 percent of voters are undecided.

He would attract many new voters, but he is too old?

I don't follow your logic. Which is more important? His age, or the fact the Dem ticket gets more voters?

I am a Bernie supporter but a lot of people my age (60) that I know were afraid because he was older and Don the con would beat him. I still think Bernie could have kicked his a$$.

Age really isn't an issue this election.

All 3 candidates are well up there in years.

Gives us everything a Sanders pick would get us, plus she is actually qualified to be president should the president kick the bucket. Disadvantage, we lose her in the Senate.

I would be happy with either, but in terms of qualifications, how is Warren more qualified than Sanders? If nothing else, he has more experience...

Sanders is running his own presidential campaign, so it's not like he would accept an offer even if one was extended.

Perhaps the most important duty of VP is to help win the election, that's why they are often chosen from key swing states. According to this poll, the decision is a no-brainer.

Warren only brings 24%. Kaine and Castro very little. Why not have this Clinton/Sanders ticket? Bernie being Bernie will fight for progressive principles and be a constant source of leftward pressure on Clinton. It is really a dream ticket, because Bernie will continue to get the national attention to advance his revolution, while at the same time bringing in more votes for the ticket. I think Bernie would go for it, because to have a revolution you have to be practical, and he will not budge from his positions. Okay, Clinton may find Sanders to be a difficult choice, but she will only benefit from having a different point of view in her ear.

Also. Sanders is old enough, that he may only serve one term, which would give someone younger a chance to be President in waiting in 2024.

and not just because I don't think it should, either.

I think she's going to go younger than herself for her VP pick.
