2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnybody know any Repubs that will vote for Hillary?
I'm looking for unusual stories.
Maybe a close friend or family member who has never voted for a Democrat before.
Or just someone you know that is so repulsed by Trump that they will vote against him.
I have a Republican brother who has ruled out Trump.
Ruled out Johnson after his Aleppo comment.
Would never consider Stein or Hillary.
Will go vote for all Repubs on ballot and either leave Prez line blank or write in Jeb Bush.

I love this kind of news.

(32,609 posts)I just talk with them about a 12 year old Hillary joining the church and hearing the words of John Wesley (short hand version) to -
"Do all that you can, for as many as you can, in as many ways as you can, for as long as you can."
Gets them every time.
It is who she is and who she has always been.

A group of Methodists walk into a bar and see a Priest and a Rabbi......hahaha....

(22,165 posts).... has made it perfectly clear that the short fingered vulgarian poses a danger ... she finds voting for Clinton a far (safer) choice

(972 posts)The amount of hatred for everything Clinton on the right is deeply ingrained. We are talking 25+ years that this fire has been stoked.

(10,870 posts)Especially here in the very red south.
I have some friends that seem otherwise sane and rational.
But, when it comes to politics and especially Hillary, they become lunatics.
I have to make pacts with them to never discuss politics.

(1,385 posts)She considers herself the right kind of Republican, which I take to mean moderate, though she is a forced birther.
Funtatlaguy
(10,870 posts)I like that better than saying Pro Choice.
Repubs and Libertarians talk so much about small or limited government.
What could be bigger government than forcing you to control your body.
Forced Birther is great positioning on the abortion issue. Should always be used.

(464 posts)One watched the Benghazi hearings, was impressed and jumped on board. All of these are college-educated men who were raised as republicans, but feel their party has left them. Some have already transitioned to Independent. When they were growing up, there were liberal republicans,

(5,636 posts)... They are staunch Republicans and won't vote for Hillary, but they told me they are not voting for Trump. That's at least 6 votes that Trump won't get.
meow2u3
(24,761 posts)and there's one registered Republican who's working with us who's voting for Hillary. He just can't stomach Trump. The guy is a native New Yorker who knows about him too well--his serial scams, self-promotion schemes, etc.--to fall for his bullshit and lies.

(12,051 posts)Republican, has worked for many years in the local Republican Party, and he's had enough. He can't believe how crazy his party has gotten, although he has sorta seen it coming. The religious crazies, the nuts, had slowly taken over the local Party machine and he was a minority voice for years at the meetings. (He's an atheist and was appalled at what was happening.)
