2. The White Male Privilege of Trump, Giuliani, and Gingrich

Yet Trump continued last night his self-congratulations for compelling the President to do this [release his long form birth certificate], along with the grotesquely racist notion that it was “good for him” (i.e., for the President). It slowly dawned on the listener that this was all of a piece with the rest of Trump’s racial attitudes: he believes that, as a rich white man, he had a right to stop and frisk the President of the United States and demand that the uppity black man show him his papers. Stop-and-frisk isn’t just a form of policing for Trump; it’s a whole way of life.

Giuliani is the guy who called a press conference to announce his divorce without telling his wife and went on to praise his employee – with whom he was having an affair and later married. And yet yesterday he said that if Hillary Clinton didn’t know about her husband’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, she is too stupid to be president.

Gingrich – who is anything but svelte – got in on the act of fat-shaming Alicia Machado. If you’re wondering how these guys have the balls (crude, but appropriate reference at this point) to do that kind of thing, take a look at how Gingrich’s second wife told the story about what happened when he said he was having an affair with Callista – who eventually became his third wife.

[hr][font color="blue"][center]The truth doesn’t always set you free.
Sometimes it builds a bigger cage around the one you’re already in.

The Men Behind Trump’s Attacks On Clinton Marriage Have A History Of Sexual Harassment, Spousal Abuse, And Marital Infidelity

https://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/09/30/men-behind-trump-s-attacks-clinton-marriage-have-history-sexual-harassment-spousal-abuse-and-marital/213453

According to CNN, one talking point says, “Hillary Clinton bullied and smeared women like Paula Jones, Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky.” Another reads, “Are you blaming Hillary for Bill's infidelities? No, however, she's been an active participant in trying to destroy the women who has (sic) come forward with a claim.”

Politico reported that after the Republican nominee’s poor performance in the presidential debate, “threats emanated from Trump Tower on Tuesday that the Republican nominee was preparing to name-check Bill Clinton’s mistresses -- alleged or otherwise.”

Yet Trump and several of his campaign’s top staffers, allies, and surrogates have episodes of marital infidelity, sexual harassment, and alleged spousal abuse in their pasts, making them hypocritical messengers for this particular type of attack.

The most common modern version is:

As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?

In February 1996, Bannon’s second wife, Mary Louise Piccard, accused Bannon of attacking her at their home. Bannon was charged with domestic violence, battery and attempting to dissuade a victim from reporting a crime, but the case was dropped when Piccard did not show up in court. In court records, Piccard later claimed that Bannon instructed her to leave town to avoid testifying.

Bannon was, as of mid-August 2016, registered to vote in Miami-Dade County, Florida, at the former residence of Diane Clohesy, Bannon's third ex-wife, but the residence was vacant and slated for demolition. On August 26, 2016, Bannon’s voter registration information was changed to an address in Sarasota County. -- Wikipedia
