Those advisers can run him through mock debates and put him through murder-board, rapid-fire exercises. They can give him a dozen good ways to try to attack Clinton. They can prepare binders of background information, game out answers and give him as many flashcards to study as they can.”

“In other words, they can give him the best information and game plan in the world. But based on the first debate, they cannot trust him to execute. Trump’s weakness is his capacity to forget in the heat of battle the advice he’s been given. Clinton seemingly can knock him off stride with the flick of a phrase.”

1. Yep. All she has to do is toss out a little bait -

some remark about how he treats women, how he isn't really very rich, something that bugs him personally - and he'll snap at it like a trout after a fly. And she'll hook him and reel him in. He can't help it. A kitten chasing a laser pointer has more self-control than he does.

2. His need to be defensive is overwhelming

Anything that he perceives to be a slight or a criticism will trigger it and he seems incapable of getting a hold on himself.

He's gone most of his 70 years without being confronted or held truly accountable for his words and deeds.

I hope he says something so outrageous that the crowd turns on him.
