Related: About this forum"illegally obtained" tax documents and the exclusionary rule
so the trumpies are all up in arms about the tax documents.
they say we should close our eyes because they were "obtained illegally".
but when they talk about "law and order", they want the exclusionary rule to be reduced or eliminated entirely. if evidence is obtained illegally, the exclusionary rule says it can't be used at trial. right-wingers hate this, they figure, hey, if ya got the goods, you should be able to use them.
of course, the exclusionary rule is there to keep the government in check, to keep it from abusing its power, something that republicans pretend to care about. except that in the case of "law and order", the government can harass minorities.
but in the case of the tax returns, it's a rich white guy, so, suddenly they like the exclusionary rule.
never mind that we're not even talking about a criminal trial, at least not as far as this latest tax release is concerned. this is just public opinion.
i'd say the hypocrisy is unbelievable, but this ain't my first rodeo. for republicans, it's just par for the course.

If hacked emails are fair game, so are irregularly-obtained tax returns~!
