Like millions of others, she believed that President Obama was a Muslim. And like so many she had gotten to know online through social media, she also believed that he was likely gay, that Michelle Obama could be a man, and that the Obama children were possibly kidnapped from a family now searching for them.

(10,252 posts)What idiocy. It shows the length to which a delusional person will go to deny reality and justify paranoia, hatred, and ill-will. Put her on display in the Freaks tent at the Carnival.

(898 posts)Yes, she is filling her head with garbage from lunatics like Alex Jones, but she has had a miserable life. It seems every time she wanted to believe in something, or looked for a bit of warmth, she got treated like shit. The men at her job were monsters to her, the Christian Bikers Club turned out to be pigs when she probably just wanted some kind of decent company. Her town is dead. In the end she runs into the arms of a charlatan like Trump for comfort. There are thousands of communities and millions of people just as described here. This is a really dangerous situation.

(48,965 posts)Many many Republicans are going to be really angry they were suckered, conned, into supporting Donald J tRump. They will blame tRump, the Grumpy Old Palefaces party, and even Obama -- but never themselves.
They won't learn much from the experience. A few will and the Democratic Party will grow stronger. Stronger Together.
Republicans on the other hand can't get it together. Their "big tent" was only big enough to hold 51% at most.
Their party is going to be ripped to pieces. There will a rational conservative party composed of old-line (and many new) Republicans who value true debate and compromise in Congress. They can form the Loyal Opposition.
The other part will be the rump party or the tRump Party. They take no prisoners and will win very few elections mostly in state Legislatures.

(42,641 posts)This speaks also to the general lack of information that is the foundation upon which so many voters make their decisions.
I think this video is also illuminating.

(35,015 posts)This very angry and helpless woman is incapable of understanding that if you threaten the president, there are consequences. She's obviously incapable of any sort of rational thought or introspection.
The whole "daddy" thing freaked me out. Sheesh.

(32,075 posts)The article mentions her "anti-anxiety medication." Whatever she is taking isn't working. If she is a "typical" Trump voter, this country is more screwed than I ever imagined, because nearly half the electorate consists of people like her.

(32,075 posts)The article mentions her "anti-anxiety" pills. Whatever she is getting isn't helping, however.
