Donald Trump sparks outrage by suggesting vets with PTSD aren’t ‘strong’ and ‘can’t handle it’

Donald Trump sparks outrage by suggesting vets with PTSD aren’t ‘strong’ and ‘can’t handle it’

..."When people come back from war and combat and they see maybe what the people in this room have seen many times over, and you're strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can't handle it," Trump told the Retired American Warriors PAC in Virginia.

Trump's comments came as he was attacking how the Department of Veterans Affairs has been run, blaming it for the rise in military and veteran suicides and calling for reforms.

Ortiz wasn't the only one affronted by the remarks.

Vice President Biden said he was stunned by Trump’s ignorance and doubted the loudmouth would follow through with his claims to care for veterans.

"Where in the hell is he from?" Biden asked at a Florida rally for Hillary Clinton. "I don't think he was trying to be mean. He is just so thoroughly, completely uninformed."

Biden said the U.S. has an obligation to "care for those we send to war and to care for them and their family when they come home."

"What are the chances Trump honors commitment to those who are wounded?” he asked...

Donald Trump is a fucking piece of shit who doesn't even deserve to be a US citizen, let alone elected to any office.

comments about John McCain earlier when Trump said he doesn't like people who were captured.

I have a hunch there are thousands of healthcare clinicians who think Trump is dead wrong on this PTSD issue. Trump is often flippant, insensitive, and cruel. I think this is a case in point.

...sales guys. Young guys. Utterly convinced that life is all about "strength", dominance and aggression.

Worst lot of sniveling shits I ever had the misfortune to meet. They think highly of themselves, which is good, because everyone else thinks they're ridiculous.

I feel like Trump could be a God to this sort.

The article is really useful in talking about Trump's appeal. It sounds some pretty serious alarm bells for the whole country, too.

That when something really bad leaks on this asshole, he comes out with something off the charts reprehensible. It's a way to control the news cycle and pull attention away from the deplorable truths that are bubbling to the surface. He knows that we are becoming more used to his horrid behavior and something like these comments may fade in days, weeks.. Whereas the tax story and the charity have the potential to grow and get much much worse for him.

He may have gone too far this time tho. I say that knowing that every time I think he can sink no lower, he lowers the bar yet again, so we can only hope that the news focuses on doing what they are supposed to do, dig deeply and uncover the truth.

Annette, who works for the VA and sees so much....... Damn DT to hell. Damn him.

They can come over here and explain to me why someone who insults veterans deserves anything more.

I'll tolerate a lot in politics, but veterans, no ma'am, that's my third rail.
