2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumYesterday (10-3-16) Hillary strongly denounced TPP while on the campaign trail but..
not a mention of it in the news today that I can find.
It was shown on the Chris Hayes show I believe, and was very strong.
Anyone else see that?
Any thoughts?

(3,040 posts)The only way to 'keep the race close' is to report on Trump as much as possible and Hillary as little as possible.
If the media starts to report on Hillary's policy positions, then people that are on the fence will start to support Hillary en masse and the media cannot have that.

(146,287 posts)audience doesn't care about TPP. It's not a pivotal issue for any but a tiny percentage. So, news about Hillary's position, which has remained the same throughout the campaign, is boring and doesn't attract readers and viewers.
She opposes it. She has said so multiple times. Some people don't believe her, but they're not really the media's target audience, and nothing she says will change their minds anyhow.
It's simply not a pivotal issue for enough people to matter, really.
So, you heard her say, once again that she doesn't support TPP. Do you believe her? You appear to care, because you watched this statement and commented on it. Do you believe that she opposes TPP? How will that affect your vote? See what I mean? It's not a pivotal issue.

(1,779 posts)related to this, Comcast is not interested in climate change issues, income inequality, raising taxes on the richest (their on-ear talent make very large salaries and the heads of the corporations have no interest in having their own taxes raised), etc.
To answer your question, I'm going to vote for Hillary anyway but I certainly think the TPP is a pivotal issue.

(13,340 posts)She'd probably not get any coverage at all.

(13,340 posts).... but it doesn't get covered. And then folks say none of the candidates are talking about issues.
