Encounter With A Copperhead.

I am currently working with a landscaping company, and had a little incident this afternoon. I was working at a newly-built home, not occupied yet, spreading mulch around some shrubs we had just planted. Down on my hands and knees, I reached under a boxwood plant, pulled the branches aside, and started to push mulch in around it, when I saw something moving near my fingers. A baby copperhead. (I'm sufficiently familiar with snakes that I can readily recognize a copperhead.) About 8-10 inches long, could fit through a drinking straw. I threw a handful of mulch on it and got my hands outa there.

But, you know, my first thought was, was Donald Trump making a campaign stop here today?? Because there was a definite resemblance: it's kinda orange, venomous, thin-skinned, and scaly--Just like little Donny. But then I realized it didn't have the hair.

9. I was bitten by a baby copperhead. It was not big enough to

give me a good dose of venom. But it did change my way of handling baby snakes no matter where I come across them.
