The timing for release of the Gropegate tape was just about perfect

The release came after Trump's very bad week and a few days after Mike Pence both failed to defend Trump and to distance himself from his racist, bigotted and misogynistic remarks made over the course of the campaign. It came as Hillary saw a huge jump in her polls. It came as President Obama's poll numbers also hit new highs.

Trump and the Rs were already back on their heels, with Trump reduced to citing phony polls and fake newspapers to pretend he won the debate. Mike Pence was hailed as having won his debate, an observation that lasted all of 12 hours before news organizations openly asked how anyone who lied with a straight face for the length of the debate could possibly be considered to have won the debate.

Any gains Trump had made in the polls were reversed within days of the debate, while Hillary's strong performance dispelled any notion that she was ill or lacked stamina.

The bombshell of the Gropegate tapes hit precisely on the day that the media was pushing the hope that Trump would somehow have a great debate Sunday. They did this by averring that the bar would be lowered even further for him this time around. That was in the morning. By 4pm, the bombshell tape had not only reversed the morning meme, it had knocked Hurricane Matthew off the lead story position.

I don't believe that Team Hillary had anything to do with the release of that tape, but If they did, I must say that I admire them for their perfect timing.

Given Trump's intent to go after Bill for infidelity and his treatment of women, the timing of this release couldn't be more perfect. We now have the topic for Sunday night, should Trump be foolish enough to raise it.

Taken down by ye olde "Lonesome Rhodes" comeuppance. Couldn't happen to a more deserving schmuck. From the grave, long time liberal Andy Griffith is smiling and smiling. . .

.... while I agree, the timing here is perfect, the deeper connotations are frightening.

Does the Media have that much control over molding public opinion?

This came out in our favor.... this time.

I don't like it.

First the media made (helped make), and now breaks the Donald.

This really bothers me. I miss Walter Cronkite. I miss real news. This would never have happened in Walter Cronkite's time. He would never have gotten this far. Journalism is flailing, good journalists are not given the air time, yet there is an over-abundance of talking heads telling us what our opinions should be.
