We Were All Naked When Donald Trump Walked Through Beauty Queen Dressing RoomTrump: I sort of get away with things like that.

In May, his campaign issued a blanket denial, calling Bridget Sullivans story and those of several other beauty queens totally false.
But Sullivans story has now received support from an unexpected source: Trump himself. The presidential candidate, who owned the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants until last year, told Howard Stern in 2005 that he made a habit of busting into the dressing rooms even when the contestants were not dressed.
Ill tell you the funniest is that Ill go backstage before a show and everyones getting dressed, Trump told Stern in recordings released Saturday by CNN. No men are anywhere, and Im allowed to go in, because Im the owner of the pageant and therefore Im inspecting it . Is everyone OK? You know, theyre standing there with no clothes. Is everybody OK? And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.
As with many of Trumps stories about his business success, his sexual prowess, and now his proclivity for sexual assault it can be hard to disentangle reality from Trumps exaggerations and braggadocio. But Sullivans words suggest that Trumps behavior toward the pageant women is more than just talk.

(833 posts)is that it lends credibility to stories like Ms. Sullivan's. It's one thing to hear from an offended party that her privacy has been violated, especially in this culture. It's entirely different when we hear the offender bragging about even worse behavior in his own voice. It's not a comfortable fact about much of male America's willingness to believe an abused woman, but from accusations that rape victims asked for it by drinking or wearing provocative clothes all the way to he-stared-at-us-when-we-were-naked accusations, the reaction is too often doubt or disbelief. So maybe the NYT did us a bigger favor than we realize. Women's voices--at least this woman's voice--are now all too believable.
