Voter participation is higher in Presidential Election years, but it is never as good as it could be. 2008 was one of the biggest turnouts I remember, I had to stand in line for a long time. 2012 was a pretty high turnout also. I plan on voting early as soon as it opens, which will be the end of October.

On the wingnut side, the GOTV effort is going to be looking at a serious morale problem while simultaneously revitalizing the progressive GOTV efforts in places long since abandoned. Once destroyed, those networks are hard to rebuild and even under the best of circumstances the GOP was already looking at an uphill march due to changing demographics all over the US.

I see my home state of Texas inevitably going blue, and although such a thing is just a remote possibility this election, there seems to be no reason to doubt Trump's exceptional ability to fuck things up.

I looked at where some of the rumors were coming from, and it was only one person saying she heard there was a tape there, but had no firm/reliable source.

Despite the deplorable Trump supporters out there, many Americans would be horrified at such outright racism if it was caught on tape.
