The mental gymnastics they go through every day while defending the indefensible suggests the latter. Of all his surrogates, the only ones who will probably vote for him are the ones hoping for a cabinet position.

They'll do anything. Even Rudi was abandoned by Christie. And Jeff Sessions is safe so he doesn't care.

They have told and repeated so many lies about Hillary, Obama, and Democrats in general that they remain committed to Trump, the hell with the country.

And the missing-in-action press has allowed the right-wing lies to continue, especially with false-equivalency arguments.

I blame the press for this debacle almost as much as I blame the Republicans. If the press has been doing its job, Trump would have been shown to be the fraud he was even before the first Republican debate.

any pretense of seriousness the last few days, and seems to be enjoying the role of jester. his responses
are NOT delivered with any conviction....he's usually smiling when he does it.

the other ones, especially Kayleigh, Scottie, Kate Pierson (what happened to her....she get arrested again?), and Boris are all irredeemably obnoxious aholes, and it's hard to tell where their motivations are. if they, too, are all in it for the $$$$, I don't know how they look in the mirror
