Could Someone Elaborate On This - I'm Hearing The GOP Battle Is Between Conservatives &....

establishment Repugs. My neighbor tells me this. He's a staunch Conservative (Cruz type) and he can't support the likes of Ryan & McConnell nor Trump. He doesn't listen to Rush or Hannity at all anymore. His go to RW talking head is Mike Levine.

He says the Tea Party is a small part of the GOP now.

I said I thought that when Trump loses that he will have the biggest bloc of support in the Party and Trump and his deplorables would take over the leadership in the Party.

I'm really confused here and I just don't have a grasp as to what exactly is going on in the GOP. Who's at odds with whom?

He says the Repug Party is going to go extinct and that some group will emerge with a different name.

Can someone help me here and try and clue me in on what is going on and what I'm missing?

Equals a hybrid media network slash political party
designed to bilk suckers who consume and believe
mountains of bullshit and conspiracy nonsense.

They know they have no chance of winning this election -
but they intend to come out the other side with a 'movement'
of morons that will bury the GOP and Faux News.

of Fundie Christians and big money corporatists, two groups that would seem to be fundamentally at odds. I'm pretty sure the link there was the televangelists, who worried about thier contributor base.

Post '08, they astro-turfed in a bunch of populist support which had deep roots in the alt-right, racist/misogynist movement and basically lost control of the party to them. Trump is the ultimate result of that turn to Tea Partyism. In a rational world, Trump should get no more than 35% of the pop vote, and 70-80 EV.

How do I come to that conclusion? I think, well, let's see. I'm still married to my first wife, whom I met 42 years ago. Our children are on their own, educated, earning their own living, and happy with their jobs. I do no addictive drugs, not even alcohol or nicotine. I have no debts. I believe in CONSERVING our environment at all costs. I believe in a very conservative policy when issuing a license to purchase a firearm--vet EVERYONE who wants one, and thoroughly. I would not want to liberalize that policy EVER. I believe in a free choice for all citizens to do as they see fit with their personal lives, including the right to choose abortion or not. I am risk averse in my personal life and finances. I still work for the same outfit I worked for when I was recruited at age 23. That was 41 years ago. I like my job, deal with it.

In other words, I AM CONSERVATIVE. I am obviously not "A" conservative as defined in Hannity's Dictionary of Foxese, where "conservative" means you hate everyone not like you, and you have to spell plurals at random with an apostrophe and write "for you and I" instead of the English "for you and me." But conservative like Barack Obama--not willing to rush headlong into some rash decision, but rather thinking it out, weighing the options, and then deciding. THAT is the definition of "conservative," and if it means that the definition put forth on Fox Noise is completely false, well what else is new?

...neither of which has a lot to do with classic conservatism.
