Its total bullshit that producers cant release tapes from Donald Trumps reality show The Apprentice for contractual reasons, says billionaire media mogul Barry Diller.
There are no legal obligations, the IAC chairman told Politico Playbook in an interview published Wednesday. To who? For what? I mean, the legal obligations are they own the copyright. They can do whatever they want with it.
On Oct. 7, an unaired clip of Trumps 2005 visit to Access Hollywood upended the GOP presidential nominees campaign. It captured Trump bragging to host Billy Bush that he could kiss and grab women without their consent because when youre a star, they let you do it.

(5,737 posts)NBC is choosing to make themselves look pretty darned bad - even worse than already. But then, if more people knew exactly what was on those tapes, they might look pathetic for not cancelling the show, and verifying that it really was all about the money.

The creator of "The Apprentice" says he does not have the legal ability to release footage from the show, denying reports that he is intentionally blocking the release of footage that may harm Donald Trump.
The statement from Burnett and MGM, which owns his company, comes two days after BuzzFeed News reported that Burnett had privately threatened to sue staff if they leaked tapes to the press -- a claim Burnett and MGM also denied.
