(2,389 posts)...celebrating Trump there in many of the most popular threads.
I was here in '07 and '08 when the PUMAS popped up here, had their little weekend boycott and then formed their own splinter sites (Capital Hill and Old Elm Tree anyone?). As bad as THOSE places got...what I saw at JPR today was worse.

(4,451 posts)Just like Trump. I think hanging out at conservative media sites during the primary affected the brain.

(58,785 posts)having more say, do you think? What happened to heroic leader Bernie? Under the bus or just a discarded enthusiasm?

(4,451 posts)In my opinion the Russian trolls we had here during the primary have moved there and are still pushing their propoganda. I see people who were long time DU pushing cray cray comments such as Putin is "on the right side of humanity" ?) I'm just shocked they're falling for the propoganda pushed by the Russian trolls!

(58,785 posts)progressively more extremist through their own indulgence in this kind of thing, and the groups they belong to also, as research has documented extensively.
Another problem for democracy that research has revealed: In general, the old theory that people choose leaders who reflect their views doesn't hold up. Instead, people follow the leaders who rise in their group and it is their ideology and positions on issues that change to fit. We are WITNESSING this big time as a majority of conservatives adapt anywhere from somewhat to completely to Trump's authoritarian irrationality.

(58,785 posts)proportion of conservatives have become increasingly radicalized, not all are, and the future of our nation may literally depend on the ability of sensible people from the left and right to unite as a solid, competent, rational majority.
The progressive and civil rights eras only came about because of and by this mainly centrist unity.

(27,813 posts)... on JPR.
It's become the go-to site for RW talking points, links to Breitbart, and discussions about how Trump is making brilliant speeches and saying all the right things.
And the conspiracy theories are, of course, still a big draw - and still a laugh riot.
The place is a haven for wacky wingnuts posing as True Progressives (TM), and it's amazing to watch them manipulate the posters who still think they're "progressives".
Even poor Bernie doesn't fare very well there anymore - ya know, the guy they set the site up to support, while carrying on his Revolution.
However, JPR is a great case study of how the easily-led are - well, easily led. You can literally watch it happening as it unfolds. Yesterday's disgruntled Bernie supporter becomes tomorrow's Trump supporter - and it's all done with just a few manipulatively-framed posts.
Truly amazing to watch.

(28,270 posts)Not surprised. They were all about white privilege IMO. Perfect fit with the Trump brownshirts.

(27,813 posts)And they're bringing more on-board with the "he betrayed us - he's just a shill for Hill" schtick.
Those who still defend Bernie rely on the CT that he's only supporting HRC because the lives of his family were threatened, and a bunch of Clinton Goons worked him over with brass knuckles backstage at the Convention.
Now the RWers posing as True Progressives (TM) are promoting the idea that Trump is very much like Bernie, and in many ways represents Bernie's ideals.
And a lot of them are actually buying it. It's fascinating to watch this all going down in real time.
