Has any politician ever been lied about by their opponents more than Hillary Clinton?

There's a whole industry on the right, devoted to writing books with made-up stories about her... and a whole in the industry on the left that writes hit pieces on her.

It's insane how many distortions this woman has had to put up with.

How perfect that she will have the ultimate revenge when she's elected president!

They attacked Obama's patriotism, birth, intellect, and more for 8 years already...Hillary has been under fire on the national stage for 24 years...

not incidentally, announced his candidacy late. He was mostly a nobody, below the radar of by far most conservatives, and even con leaders saw him only as a tool to defeat Hillary and didn't believe he could possibly win. Remember how Scarborough talked him up for months?

Hillary has been the target of a genuine vast right-wing conspiracy to take her down since the late 1980s.

2. Being black helped protect Obama from lies. Eight years ago it was considered shameful to be bigoted against blacks (against Muslims and Democrats fine, but not blacks), so fear of being labelled racist cut attacks dramatically.

Bill Clinton, in contrast, was accused of every "black menace" cliche out there, from drug dealing, sexual licentiousness, laziness, eating like a pig, vandalism, murder...and even raping a white woman. A good part of the reason he's sometimes humorously referred to as our first black president.

and Franklin Roosevelt were treated horribly, too. Not to mention Obama. So at least she's in good company.

but I don't think the sheer magnitude of distortion over so many years is the same as Hillary, though Gore comes close. There's something about Hillary that strikes deep in the conservative id.
