In Less Than 4 Hours, Democrats Completely Crowdfund Rebuilding Of Firebombed NC GOP Office

Overnight on Friday, the local Republican Party headquarters in Orange County, North Carolina, was firebombed. Donald Trump couldn’t wait to blame liberals, but in less than four hours Democrats managed to completely crowdfund the rebuilding of the office.

During the late night/early morning hours, someone threw some kind of flammable material through the front window of the building. A swastika and the message “Nazi Republicans leave town or else” was spray painted on an adjacent building. The statement issued by authorities also stated that “the flammable substance appears to have ignited inside the building, burned some furniture and damaged the building’s interior before going out.”

Trump’s response was reprehensible. Even though the investigation is ongoing and no one has any idea who is responsible at this point, he took to Twitter to point his tiny finger. The GOP nominee wrote that “Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning.”

Meanwhile, here in the real world, Democrats started up a Go Fund Me campaign and surpassed their goal in a matter of hours. The following message accompanied the fundraiser:

On October 16, a North Carolina headquarters of the Republican Party was firebombed , and an abhorrent threat was painted on its outside wall

As Democrats, we are starting this campaign to enable the Orange County, North Carolina Republican office to re-open as soon as possible.

Until an investigation is undertaken, we cannot know who did this or why. No matter the result, this is not how Americans resolve their differences. We talk, we argue, sometimes we march, and most of all we vote. We do not resort to violence by individuals or by mobs.

So, let’s all pitch in , no matter what your party affiliation, and get that office open again quickly.

Really? Oh come on people. That is exactly what a liberal would say. If you're talking about the same liberal that all the right wing talking heads describe incessantly. Unfortunately, that guy doesn't exist. This was a Trump supporter. Or possibly just an inside job. The GOP is in for big losses in NC, or so I've read. But that message makes it clear to me. Wasn't our side.

A democrat is responsible for this we absolutely need to be opposed to any violence. We win on ideas and arguments. Not fear and intimidation.
It is just as likely to be a republican trying to mindtrick everyone and make democrats look bad.

I have trouble believing Democrats would firebomb the office. Period.

And why were "completed" Absentee ballots supposedly in the building?

This took place in a predominantly progresssive oriented county, progressives tend to be much better informed than right wingers, progressives are far less likely to take violent actions than right wing people. Given that HRC is well ahead in the polls it makes no sense whatsoever for this to have been done by a democratic leaning person(s). A strong argument can be made for this to be a right wing conspiracy (yes I used that crazy word) lashing out in realization of impending doom for the tRumplicans and their ilk. Frenzied frustration with reality can easily cause the less intelligent to act out in fear and violence, it's a typical right wing response to being told "NO" to their fantasy world ideologies. Can't wait for the FBI and DOJ to get to the bottom of this, and they will!

The campaign’s goal was $10,000 to cover the cost of rebuilding the GOP office, but in less than four hours they had raised a total of $13,167. Having shot past their original goal, the fundraiser has stopped accepting donations. Like usual, even with all of Trump’s bluster and “billions,” it was liberals who saved the day.

about this. Good will gesture which would never be reciprocated although I can see retaliation being directed our way before the crime is solved. Could we crowdfund for Flint or Matthew survivors?

... and a pretty brilliant counter political move as well.

I also, suspect there is a strong chance that this may be done by Trump supporters anyway. Many of them are hardly in love with the GOP establishment right now. Also, there is the boarder motive of giving Trump his Reichstag moment, as many have noted. I suspect there will be more incidents.
