Vice President Joe Biden implied on Friday that he wishes he could beat up Donald Trump over vulgar and predatory comments the GOP presidential nominee made toward women.

Biden was asked about comments Trump made in a 2005 tape in which he bragged about making unwanted sexual advances toward women and being able to “grab them by the pussy” because he was a celebrity.

“’Because I’m a billionaire I can do things other people can’t.’ What a disgusting assertion for anyone to make,” Biden said while campaigning for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in Pennsylvania. “The press always ask me, don’t I wish I was debating him? No, I wish we were in high school, and I could take him behind the gym. That’s what I wish.”

“(Trump) was born with a silver spoon in his mouth that he’s now choking on because his foot’s in his mouth along with the spoon,” Biden said in September.

I heard a clip on CNN that helps make sense of Biden's statement.

He begins by talking about his history of crusading for women's rights. His work to get the Violence Against Women Act passed, 20 years ago, and all of the works he's done since. It is in this context that he describes Trump as the antithesis of all that Biden has worked for, i.e. to protect women from sexual assault. So then he calls Trump disgusting and then he implies that given the opportunity, Biden would beat the shit out of him.

I was watching some commentators talk about this, and they said that this is what any civilized man would do to a man who sexually assaults women. So while there are some pundits saying that what Biden said was violent and inappropriate, they are not acknowledging the long-held tradition of brothers going and beating the shit out of any man who hurts their sister.

I think Trump's comment about grabbing pussy *really* got to Biden.

I'm not bothered by his comments --- there are some people who don't get it until the bullying happens to them. They have no empathy, so a lecture won't work, only a taste of their own behavior reaches them.
