Numbers are what mattered in the evolutionary trajectory. Culture is fluid in comparison, spreading innovations globally without genetic correlation.

As does your OP, jokey as it may be. No doubt, Neanderthal extinction was more complex than an absolute genocide. That doesn't, however, rule out a partial genocide, and the evidence for that remains persuasive.
