Interesting genealogical discovery found in youtube comments:

As our modern human ancestors migrated through Eurasia, they encountered the Neanderthals and interbred. Because of this, a small amount of Neanderthal DNA was introduced into the modern human gene pool.

Concentrations of Neanderthal DNA can be found in the United States!

Commonly known as the TRUMPANZEES, they are infamous for their lack of intelligence and paranoia.
TRUMPANZEES have an increased likelihood to display regressive, disturbing behaviour, such as; SEXISM, RACISM, XENOPHOBIA, HOMOPHOBIA & ISLAMOPHOBIA!
The most regressive TRUMPANZEES can be easily identified due to their knuckles trailing on the ground, obsession for big guns, and killing other creatures. TRUMPANZEES also have an increased propensity to Marry their Cousins!

1. Fortunately, science and PC anthropology have turned away from maligning Neanders as brutish or less

intelligent. They had bigger brains and evidence some aspects of modern cultural traits before other groups.

They also had bigger hands.

made their way into homo saps' DNA, but I couldn't think of a decent way to edit the comment to make it reflect that POV

that thread cracked me up to make it far along enough to find that comment, though, so I figured it deserved some more exposure

5. More of their genes around today than people realize. Culture harder to quantify.

Also, culture may have spread without evidence of gene pool interaction remaining in evidence today. Genes easily get swamped out by numerical disadvantage if they don't have a survival advantage. So today we see Neanderthal genes related to immunity survived the demographic differential with the larger tropical modern gene pool arising after the Toba bottleneck. Numbers are what mattered in the evolutionary trajectory. Culture is fluid in comparison, spreading innovations globally without genetic correlation.

http://www.livescience.com/47460-neanderthal-extinction-revealed.html

To help solve the mystery of when Neanderthals went extinct, scientists analyzed bone, charcoal and shell materials from 40 archaeological sites from Russia to Spain. They employed advanced techniques for more precise dating of these specimens that involved ultra-filtering molecules from bone samples for examination and removing organic contaminants that could make specimens seem younger than they actually are.

The new findings suggest that Neanderthals disappeared from Europe between about 41,000 and 39,000 years ago.

8. The study does not exclude and in fact accepts coexistence

As does your OP, jokey as it may be. No doubt, Neanderthal extinction was more complex than an absolute genocide. That doesn't, however, rule out a partial genocide, and the evidence for that remains persuasive.
