Trump is making the stupidest most conflated whiny speech of the campaign at Gettysburg.

Jesus...he's going from "Break up ATT-Time Warner" to "Those women were lying and I'm going to sue them" within a single sentence. Blaming Hillary for violence at his speeches. Rigged-rigged-rigged. At Gettysburg.

It's like seeing someone piss on American history. I'm impressed at how enraged I am. I can imagine what the Republican Party, African Americans, and anyone who's proud of our history are feeling.

all the voting machines in the crirtical states are rigged as they very well could be. I doubt this will happen since it's easier and less noticeable to rig the down ballot results. By "rig" I mean add a certain percentage to the red side, what's called "red tilt." This is what is now built into our electoral system, so much so that the polling companies now "adjust" their exit pollilng to account for this peculiar habit the computer results show of ending up about 3% tilted red.

37. His political instincts
Sun Oct 23, 2016, 02:33 AM
Oct 2016

His political instincts are very strong. I've seen his effect on people I know, and it reminds me very much of what I've read about Hitler's effect on the German people.

Do not underestimate Trump.

As far as his base is concerned, it might be larger than you think.

I recently made a joke about Trump to my family doctor. And he said that believe it or not, he knows a doctor that is voting for Trump.

Later I realized he was probably speaking of himself.

There are many people who are either embarassed to say they support Trump or who won't admit it for fear of compromising their professional image.

I was recently shocked when my older brother told me today that he just contributed money to the Trump campaign--he was originally for Trump, but then soured on Trump because Trump seemed so totally inept.

But as election day nears, it's like my brother is mesmerized by Trump. Watching someone react to Trump in this way, is a lot like watching one of the sci fi movies where the aliens take over the mind of someone you know, making him into a stranger.

Hitler had the same effect on otherwise intelligent Germans.

It's easy for someone who dislikes Trump to find ways to confirm their bias against him and not see him objectively.

Getting elected isn't about getting the facts correct. Getting elected is simply a matter of persuading people to vote for you.

And that last doesn't have to have anything to do with facts--but it does have everything to do with knowing what people want to believe.

that require a ton of organization that Trump has not demonstrated. Nor has he gotten the party support he needs. And to a certain extent, a Democratic win was already "baked in the cake" demographically. Trump has just made it a lot less close.

Trump has no discipline either, as shown by the debates. He really only loves giving speeches in front of crowds and getting attention.

Also, I don't think Hitler went around assaulting women and turning them off.

25. Trump supporter delusions: Trump's Contract on the American Voter
Sat Oct 22, 2016, 03:19 PM
Oct 2016
“On November Eighth, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our country, secure our communities, and honesty to our government,” Trump says. “This is my pledge to you and if we follow these steps we will once more have a government of, by and for the people and importantly we will make America great again. Believe me.”

Here is the list of the “Contract with the American Voter” policies detailed by Trump:

2. Institute a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health)

3. Require for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.

9. Direct Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator.

11. Lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.

13. Cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure.

14. Cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama.

15. Begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.

16. Cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities.

17. Begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back.

23. Work with Congress on a Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA

25. Work with Congress on an End Illegal Immigration Act. Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall;

26. Work with Congress on a Restoring Community Safety Act.Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime;

27. Work with Congress on a Restoring National Security Act.Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment;

{... 15 more items ...}

His supporters continue to be deeply deluded:

If you missed this live you missed history. Powerful.

38. 23. Provide corporate welfare to the health insurance industry
Sun Oct 23, 2016, 06:42 AM
Oct 2016

This bears repeating: Being able to purchase health insurance across state lines also means the insurance companies can sell it across state lines - which means the microsecond The Donald, or some other Republican, approves the sale of health insurance across state lines the entire health insurance industry is going to pack their shit and haul ass straight to the state with the highest health insurance rates and the skimpiest plan requirements, and that is the insurance the entire country will get whether they want it or not.

These dipshits think if the GOP allows people to buy insurance across state lines they can all buy Hawaii's insurance, the least-expensive insurance in America. Well, there are many reasons Hawaiian health insurance is so cheap: they have better weather than other states, they have a diet rich in produce, they spend a lot of time outside, they know what the fuck sunscreen is, they don't use very much coal and cigarettes are outrageously expensive. Contrast that with West Virginia, where it's colder than a well-digger's ass even on the nicest days, pellagra is a childhood disease, coal is both burned and mined, and cigarettes are practically a birthright.

If Trump gets his way, the health insurers in Hawaii will go broke quick if they have to sell insurance to people who don't live in Hawaii. However, the insurers in West Virginia will make out like bandits if they get to sell policies to Hawaiians.

This is HuffPo but it's the quickest find. And I said Hillary. Possibly not clear.

One thing to note as a new poster; most of us have been around for years and you're walking into the middle of years-long existing conversations. Sometimes there's shorthand because there's widespread background and sometimes we are simply grousing to one another about things that are connected throughout the campaign.

I'm not nearly the conspiracy theorist you are but I don't disbelieve the idea that there have been some independent attempts at covert operations. I don't think it's pervasive; considering how beautifully coordinated the Clinton campaign is, the return for event violence is low. "Mentally ill people" are not exactly high reliability, nor is the term comprehensible. I wouldn't give O'Keefe's credibility a thought. He's proven himself without scruples many times.
