Get Ready to Ignore Donald Trump Starting on November 9, or He’ll Never Go Away (The Intercept)

On November 9, when Trump likely loses the presidential election in a big way, the news media will face a moment of truth: Will they continue to obsessively cover him and his post-election antics? Or will they ignore him?

They should ignore him.

And ignore means ignore. It doesn’t mean giving him half the air time he received during the campaign, or a quarter. It doesn’t mean covering his crazed claims and conspiracy theories and bringing on a panel of guests to debate them or fact-check them.

If Trump starts his Alex Jones Roger Ailes Steve Bannon TrumpTV.... I'm afraid we will be seeing him and his O'keefe investigative reports for some time to come.

republicans+trump = constant erosion of the integrity of America and the White House. Taking control of the Senate will help; this is a must.

incessant DT clips. Im looking esp at you Stephanie Miller. - she does that thing of cracking jokes over what he's saying but Im sorry I just dont find it amusing anymore, not when its more than a sentence or two and she keeps it going for what feels like forever - I jsut turn it off. Its not like every other radio outlet and newscasts at top of the hour arent running these 24/7.

She talks for 3 hours, 5 days week, all about trump. I don't get it. To be fair, I don't listen to her full-on. I drop in from time to time, and sure enough, it is all about trump;day after day, week after week... YUCK!

Hey Stephanie... there are other topics!

every time she gets some attention (eg after convention, after debates) her poll numbers go up. It was only through hearing her speak in her own words (instead of paraphrased by DT and Repubs) that my opinion of her started to shift from being a necessary evil to someone I could actually vote for with some enthusiasm.

And frankly, Stephanie? HRC's zingers are better than yours. Had to laugh at HRC's depiction of DT as someone who " loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them."

To be totally ignored would be the most devastating blow to the Donald's giant ego.

I often wonder why and how people such as the "enlightened" and "brilliant speaker", Phil Robertson, of Duck Dynasty fame, become the public mouthpieces of ignorance and bigotry.

After watching Donald Trump's rise in politics, it really became clear; it's because they are given the fucking microphone with panels of guests as you so clearly described to shout over one another. It's the equivalent of the Jerry Springer Show 24/7. I am very, very afraid that we'll have the Donald yapping incessantly until he blessedly leaves this earth. And I'm not talking about him yapping on HIS own network; I am worried that all the other networks will continue their reality TV obsession and it will be all Donald all the time. What a repulsive thought.

They will be talking about how the Senate flipped to Dem control. They will talking about President elect Clinton's staff picks and what her first 100 day agenda will be. I think trump will go on a back burner, at least some.
