2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumEarly voting in GA was pleasant for me.
I wasn't anticipating trouble, and I found a peaceful, vaguely party atmosphere in the long line. Lots of smiling, diverse faces. 1.5 hours total, a thousand feet from the restaurant where I ate breakfast. Nice.
May it be that pleasant elsewhere.

(3,284 posts)I'm originally from Atlanta, though I live in NJ now.
My parents are still there (in Gwinnett County) and my mom told me she's worried about threats of intimidation when she goes to vote. She's worried that people might see her last name (a hispanic last name) and try to stop her from voting for Clinton.
It makes me SO angry to think that she should even be worried about it. They're both in their 80s now and she said she'll just leave if that happens because she "doesn't want any trouble." I told her not to do that unless she really thinks she's in danger. I doubt anything will happen, but I hate that the suggestion has been planted.
