(67,101 posts)There are so many damn fools and shitheads that are too stupid to comprehend what Trump is about. I never thought in the US we would see so many people support someone like Trump, campaigning to be America's version of Hitler.
This has been a real eye opener for me.

(18,652 posts)I heard this on NPR last year with an expert interviewed. She was speaking about gangs and this is what she said about Hitler's SS (his special forces thugs). After WWI, there were a lot of kids without fathers in Germany. And if the moms could not afford to feed the kids, they would be on the streets. Hitler exploited these kids and gave them a "loving" home in the SS where they could do anything they wanted as long as Hitler was der Fuhrer.
The really hardcore Trump fanatics are probably like Hitler's SS. Trumpty needs to tone down his rhetoric bigly.

(42,671 posts)The decree is specific to the RNC and state party committees, their employees, servants, and agents. There needs to be some relationship, beyond being a self-identified repub or supporter of a repub candidate to trigger the decree. For example, the decree states that the RNC will refrain from doing certain and will not permit its employees, servants, or agents to do them. But there is no way the RNC can "not permit" someone to do something if it has no relationship with that person that allows it to control their actions (or punish them by severing the relationship).

https://electionlawblog.org/?p=85289
In the consent decree, The RNC agreed that the RNC, its agents, servants, and employees would be bound by the Decree, whether acting directly or indirectly through other party committees. Does Trump count as the RNCs agent in these circumstances? They are certainly acting in concert, and it is plausible to argue that Trump and the RNC are agents of each other for purposes of this election. Also, the activity Trump is talking about engaging violate the consent decree? One thing the consent decree says is that they must:
(e) refrain from undertaking any ballot security activities in polling places or election districts where the racial or ethnic composition of such districts is a factor in the decision to conduct, or the actual conduct of, such activities there and where a purpose or significant effect of such activities is to deter qualified voters from voting; and the conduct of such activities disproportionately in or directed toward districts that have a substantial proportion of racial or ethnic populations shall be considered relevant evidence of the existence of such a factor and purpose
If this activity violates the consent decree, the DNC can ask for it to be extended for up to another 8 years.

(42,671 posts)The RNC doesn't control or direct Trump's actions. The Consent Decree dictates what the RNC and state party committees do. Not what campaign committees or individual supporters do.

(42,671 posts)You'll have a better sense of how the consent decree works.
Bloggers often reach a conclusion they want and then invent an argument to support it. Like those who think that Obama has a magic wand he can wave to make Garland a SCOTUS justice.

(14,853 posts)... when I was 18 years old (long ago).
I sold him and his "old lady" a case of beer. Then their daughter, who was riding in the bed of the truck and who looked like she was about 9 years old, asked me for a pack of cigarettes! I smiled and told her that she was too young to buy cigarettes. The man then yelled, "Sell her the damn cigarettes!" I refused, of course. Then he said, "I'll buy them, then!" After he paid the money and I handed him the pack, he quickly tossed it to the little girl in the back and drove away.
