Mark Halperin has actually been fair and sensible today

On Bloomberg TV minutes ago. He said the FBI opens and closes investigations all the time. But they don't announce it. He said for Comey to make this type of announcement 10 days prior to a presidential election is unprecedented and unfair and hints that Comey was pressured by Republicans in congress to do so. Halperin said the development is destined to linger for the remainder of the campaign.

When Halperin said nobody knows what is in the emails in question, the rightwing stock market host tried to assert that Hillary may know, that she could be aware of problematic emails that had been erased and never included in the investigation. Halperin also shot that down, saying it was a stretch.

I'll be interested to see if Halperin maintains this theme on his show later today, or if he swerves based on the wind, per his tendency.

2. I agree, Comey should not be bowing to political pressure, he should be able to

conduct himself separate from any political pressure. If not, then he needs to step down.
