The FBI just gave down-ballot Republicans something to grab on to

The FBI just gave down-ballot Republicans something to grab on to
By Amber Phillips October 28 at 4:09 PM

Republicans have viewed with skepticism the FBI's decision that Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server didn't warrant a criminal case. From their perspective, Friday is an "I-told-you-so" moment that couldn't have come at a better time politically, especially for down-ballot Republicans.

Eleven days before the election, the FBI is going to take "investigative steps" on whether additional classified material crossed the server Clinton used exclusively as secretary of state.

The mere optics for the average voter hearing "FBI," "investigation" and "Clinton emails" so close to the election is not good for Clinton. Which means it's very helpful for vulnerable House and Senate Republicans.

1. I tend to agree. I think Comey (and perhaps other members of the FBI)...

...just gave us a glimpse of their partisan tilt. This was red meat for the stupid, and Comey dished it out with the straightest of faces.

Nothing burger is a nothing burger. No meat, nothing, just bullshit and people know that already. If anything, they come off as extremely desperate losers.

They so desperately needed a distraction because they have the faltering GrOPer for a candidate.

2. That is why the campaign and its surrogates have to make it very clear, this has NOTHING to do with

any emails to or from Hillary, or her email server. This has NOTHING to do with Hillary. I suspect they will hold a major press conference no later than Monday, presenting the facts in a very clear and concise manner so there is no doubt, unlike what the director of the FBI did. In addition, the surrogates will need to be on as many news programs as possible, to push back on this bullshit.

What would be ideal is if Comey came out and clearly stated that this had NOTHING to do with emails to or from Hillary, or her email server, but doubt that will happen, and the campaign and its surrogates are going to be tasked with that job.

Everyone else needs to do whatever they can to Get Out The Vote. Whether that is through call banking or canvassing. That will make all the difference
