Bill Maher has been lobbying to snatch this exclusive on his show for nearly eight years and he couldn't be more pleased, given the incredible timing of one of the most exciting and nerve-racking elections in American history, which may well be the overriding factor for the president in going on the show.
Back in January, he launched a formal White House petition for President Obama to make such an appearance and the online White House petition garnered more than 170,000 signatures, more than 100,000 more than needed requiring a response. Maher said that he is thrilled that the president has come through with the interview, as he did with the country in coming through.
