2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDU came through for Mecklenburg Dems. Good thing, too. News teams from around the world
have descended on Charlotte and will be camped out there from here to election day. Not only do Meck Dems have to work GOTV and precinct and poll work, but, they have to answer the call to represent Dem party during all these international interviews. Some of those interviewees are longtime DUers (ssshhhh).
Mecklenburg County is becoming Ground Zero for this election cycle. We need to keep them sourced.
They were stretched to the point of breaking last Thursday and DU came to their rescue.
You are all heroes.
They are heroes. The US Senate and the governance of NC is in their hands.
This thread was posted Thursday morning for those who don't know WTF I'm talking about

(113,037 posts)but, she's so busy she hasn't posted on DU in a very long time.
She was flabbergasted by the response - not surprised that DU would step up, just overjoyed they responded to the need so quickly, completely understanding the import of the work. There are NO PAID STAFF at that office, it is 100% volunteer. This is one less MAJOR thing for her to worry about.
DU did that. So proud.

(17,096 posts)And a crazy coincidence, the MCDP volunteer was talking about the generosity of DU as I walked up to early voting! The donations DU sent REALLY made a difference.
Here is my longer thread on the topic.
