Thank you DU! Your help made a HUGE difference in NC!
A few days ago, longtime DUer, activist and NC resident BLM put out the call for emergency cash donations for Mecklenburg County Democratic Party. MCDP had completely run out of sample ballots and had no money to print more. Early voting was only halfway finished 
Some background, Mecklenburg County (Charlotte, NC) is ground zero in electoral dog fights in THREE nationally important races this year. There is a strong chance that NC's Electoral College votes could go to Hillary Clinton, we are fighting to defeat a horrible Governor who rubber stamped discriminatory voter laws and the infamous HB2 "Bathroom Law". And now Senator Burr (R-Corporations) is ALSO considered vulnerable. There is also a few judicial races that only the nerdiest pay attention to, but there will be HUGE ramifications if the GOP forces their choice through.
The Mecklenburg Democrats have been struggling to keep up with all the demands. One simple but very important service they provide is to hand out a "Blue Ballot" that lists all the Democratically endorsed candidates to voters as they wait in line. This is KEY because first, the GOP did away with straight-ticket voting and second, many judicial races are listed as non-partisan on the ballot, even though they are not. So the only way most Democratic voters know how to vote in 'non-partisan' races is if they get one of the Blue Ballots.
This is where DU came in! BLM made a post here for donations and MANY heard the call! How do I know this? As I was walking up to the line to early vote, the volunteer was PROUDLY displaying a HUGE stack of Blue Ballots and saying "Someone made a request on the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND and we got over $3,000 in donations! We got a big one from MICHIGAN! They said their home races were secure and they wanted to give where it would really help!"
I about died! I had donated too and here I was seeing FIRST HAND how that donation was going to help swing one of the most important swing states into the blue column!

Typical GOP obstructionism. Might have shot themselves in the foot with that one though. Trump voters are not always super excited about down-ticket GOP candidates or regular voters. Makes it harder for them to vote the local races too 
I love reading about stories like this.
I missed BLM's orig post, but I'll keep an eye out in the future because I'd love to help.
