Thank you Bill Weld
He's on CNN, and completely defends Hillary on this latest Comey scandal.

1. Now withdraw from the Libertarian ticket and endorse HRC
if you really want to help.

4. Libertarian ticket is splitting votes from both Trump and Hillary.
I don't think they are a problem at this moment.

5. What he said there was more important that any endorsement. Outstanding. Never criticised Hillary
once during the entire interview, just piled into Trump.

2. Refreshing
And I believe more effective than any Democratic operative I've heard all weekend.

3. He really should bail on the ticket and openly endorse HRC.
He won't, because he has some integrity and probably promised not too, but you can tell he wants to. I don't agree with him on many issues, but he is a man of integrity.

6. He's already kind of endorsed her.
He is on record in saying Hillary is the most qualified and if you vote for someone from a major party, don't vote for Trump.

7. yeah. Kinda sorta...
But what kind of statement would it make to renounce the ticket and openly endorse her? Pretty powerful, IMO.

9. I can see his point. He knows Johnson can't win but he promised to be his VP.
Dumping Jonhson that close to the election wouldn't be nice. And not sure it would even accomplish much, as Johnson is splitting votes from both Trump and Hillary.

10. He doesn't need to if he does interviews like that, and if he did, he'd drop down to being a
Hillary surrogate rather than a VP nominee.

14. EXACTLY. And, he'd get much less TV coverage,
if any. And, while he's in the race, libertarians and many undecideds will listen to what he has to say.

8. It was a GREAt interview
His quoting Monty Phython about Trump was great. He gently urged Republicans to vote for his ticket instead of Trump.
The coverage on CNN I've been watching so far is pretty fair - the graphic is "Comey Under Fire" and they are taking that angle. Next up a story about Trump not giving away any money. |

16. LOVE the bit about Trump seating himself on the podium
of a dinner for a charity he gave NOTHING to, displacing the donor the seat was for. Trump just surprised everyone when he showed up. Apparently he's pulled this trick a number of times to get himself portrayed as a philanthropist by the media.

13. Weld is an old-school New England Conservative
I may disagree with him about many things, but I can usually respect him. I am really gald he wasn't the GOP nom tbh.

15. Weld is the kind of guy a lot of MA Democrats would vote for
He's the type of Republican that during his tenure was the proper application of the break on progress; it didn't stop it but it slowed it so that things didn't go too crazy. It was a proper balance.
