2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThis morning, I retweeted an article on the Trump-Russia connections
and, quickly afterwards, I picked up four Twitter followers with .RU email addresses. Coincidence? I think not.

(56,827 posts)I had highlighted three of them and marked as unread, and then the 4th email came in.
I'm not too savvy about this sort of thing but it appears communications are being monitored by Russian operatives.

who knows, it could be a bunch of mail order brides or porn sites as well. Those can happen online.

(1,557 posts)Yes not all Russians are Putin followers but the sheer number which ganged up on his site is ominous. Think, if they were non Putin Russians they wouldn't come in such a number all at once.

(3,284 posts)I retweeted a Trump-Russia article yesterday and I also picked up a few followers.
I just went back and looked at them again. One of them definitely looks like a bot. She has what is surely a fake profile pic (an airbrushed model photo), her last name is a common American name (except that it's misspelled) and she tweets out strangely random things from yoga articles to celebrity updates to ads for useless infomercial gadgets.
ETA: the other follower I picked up is called "Illuminati Exposed" and their profile statement says "Awareness of the illuminati /NWO/ Global bankers. Spreading the truth of what happening to the human race".
