I've tried to point that out multiple times. Terrific news that Hillary is campaigning in Las Vegas tomorrow, and also that we're going back on the air in pivotal states like Colorado, Virginia and Wisconsin.

We need to net 25 or preferably 30 thousand votes in Nevada on Wednesday through Friday.

The mistake was getting cocky and trying to expand the playing field. It's not going to happen in 2016 and it allowed foundational states to slip tighter than they rightfully should be. We never should have assumed anything in states that are historically tight. Long term trends mean more than fragile current poll leads.

Hillary's campaign has made strategic mistakes previously. In the 2008 primaries Hillary's team placed highest emphasis on Par 5 states like Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio etc. Meanwhile, Obama's team understood the value of racking up delegates in Par 3 states and caucuses. Nate Silver came to prominence at that point when he was posting under a pseudonym on various sites and was far ahead of the delagate math, announcing that Obama's strategy was all but certain to pay off.

Anyway, I don't know about MacDonald but most high profile elections professors are conservative. When I lived in Las Vegas the quoted media source was always some rightwinger who taught at Nevada-Reno. It was sickening. His summary invariably favored the Republican. Maybe he's still there. Fortunately Jon Ralston attained more national prominence. I've read his stuff for 30 years.

On edit: The hack from Nevada-Reno is named Erik Herzik. The Las Vegas Review-Journal went out of its way to quote him even when Ralston still worked for them.

with his Ralston report and he pretty much is saying that HRC could get enough votes this week to win Nevada outright.
