how effective are political ads in a National election?
I really don't think they are worth the $$ spent especially in large media markets. Much more effective the farther you go down ballot. Thoughts?

People "know" or feel like they know the candidates.
But with Congressional seats, often the only exposure people have to the candidates is through the ads. This is where Citizens United is doing its real damage to our democracy.
