2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumFor what ever reason.. I am not worried.. go figure! I am usually such a worrywart
According to how these polls are bouncing around I should be.. or so the media says.. but for the life of me.. if we keep turning people out.. I am not worried.. why.. because we have been turning people out to vote early!!!!! And these swings of having her 12 points ahead and 5 days later tied up.. really.. I mean really.. does anyone in their right mind think that people are bouncing around like that
No one has polled me at all this year.. of course I got rid of my land line just to avoid it.. they drove me crazy last election
But lets think this out.. if Democrats are turning out at a higher rate to vote early.. (and they have your name.. you are not polled again once you vote).. lets just think about this.. if they are not polling the Democrats because they have voted.. maybe.. just maybe that explains those poll swings..
But whatever.. just keep going to the polls.. I plan to sit back with a tub of popcorn next Tuesday and watch while people on the TV chew their upper lips off trying to explain the big blowout for the Democrats..
Just saying.. that's how I see it.. as long as we keep voting..

(22,123 posts)election on DU and I am not as nervous as I was in 2004.
Hillary is strong. Her team is excellent and many of us are doing what we can to help her win. The media is the media and they have not changed. I'm going to ignore them. Life is better that way.

(21,774 posts)is nothing more than a "dead cat bounce"
(from the Wall Street expression that "even a dead cat will bounce if it falls from a great height"
Stay the course, GOTV, and we will bring it all home for Hillary come next Tuesday.

(49,947 posts)Hillary will win nationally, but we still need to get the vote out here in Iowa. And you know how tough it is on this side of the state!
Would love to turn IA blue again. I'm hoping we can get rid of Young here in the 3rd district too.

(68,469 posts)I have looked at even Silver site...which oddly has her winning states by more than 80 points but has her chance of winning presidency 69. something...she is going to win.

(459 posts)i am guardedly optimistic that hillary will win this because trump is just so awful. i am hopeful that even reasonable people who may like her such a david frum will vote for her because it is the only acceptable outcome to ensure the future and promise of our nation. i'm hopeful that the comey letter came out in a reasonable enough amount of time for sane people to take a real honest look at what is going on here and poke their own holes in it in and expose it for the deplorable agenda that it reeks of.
i keep telling myself that trump is going to have to make a perfect sweep in every battleground he needs plus pick off a state that he currently doesn't have in his column and that it's extemely unlikely for all of that to fall into place for him. but still i worry what might happen if we don't turn out our people in the states that we need to. that is why it is so critical for any and all swing state and light blue state dems to GOTV as much as possible in early voting and on election day. the dark cloud of donald trump must be lifted from over us on november 8th and we must never allow him to become president. i will continue to pray and vote for hillary and encourage other sane and reasonable people to do the same, that is all i can do before it is too late.
