FBI examining fake documents targeting Clinton campaign: sources

The FBI and U.S. intelligence agencies are examining faked documents aimed at discrediting the Hillary Clinton campaign as part of a broader investigation into what U.S. officials believe has been an attempt by Russia to disrupt the presidential election, people with knowledge of the matter said.

U.S. Senator Tom Carper, a Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, has referred one of the documents to the FBI for investigation on the grounds that his name and stationery were forged to appear authentic, some of the sources who had knowledge of that discussion said.

In the letter identified as fake, Carper is quoted as writing to Clinton, “We will not let you lose this election,” a person who saw the document told Reuters.

The fake Carper letter, which was described to Reuters, is one of several documents presented to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice for review in recent weeks, the sources said.

In the FBI documentation that Comey sent to Congress a month after that hearing there’s more about the emails with the mistaken letter (c) marking.

Comey decided to use one of them as an exhibit during the interview with Clinton. He added additional header markings to make the classification more prominent and he showed the email to Clinton without disclosing how he altered it.

The presence of an email on her server with such an obvious marking could indicate extreme negligence. Clinton looked at it and told him it wasn’t authentic. The document was a call sheet, something that she and her staff handled almost every day. It was part of the prep for phone calls to foreign officials. The content wasn’t confidential. The staff included the letter (c) because the Secretary’s decision whether to make the call was confidential until she okayed it and it went on her schedule.

Imagine yourself in her shoes and seeing an irrelevant marking that didn’t belong there and knowing what this bastard was trying to pull.

In the documentation, he said that the State Dept never responded to his questions about ‘their’ markings. In this video, he’s sure that he spoke to them.
